Once we get our Uniform Server up and running and looking the way we want it, put together some sort of web page and web applications no doubt we will want to show it off to our friends and family members, but I worry about security holes and dont want someone from the outside (bots on the web) owning my computer system or snooping around my computer, is their some sort of testing software we can run on our web sites to see if we have any security issues? I was planning on running a web site off my home computer would it be more secure if I ran it in a Windows XP virtual machine, is their a way a hacker could access the data outside the virtual machine? Thanks in adva…

Hi guys, Sorry I posted here but I do not have access to the beta forum to post my findings. When UniServer 8.1.0RC1 is launched the first time it asks you to change your password as usual. This is what I've reproduced several times... When using complex password, specifically characters such as "@" the installation breaks. MySQL service hangs and the user has to manually force the service to stop and end all running instances of the application. After that, the server configuration window will not longer work. MySQL users cannot be created, permissions cannot be set and databases cannot be created (FROM THE MySQL SERVER CONFIGURATION WINDOW) Users are left wit…

Orion 7.0.? for windows does not properly handle the IP6 localhost address of ::1 Microsoft SBS 2008 has both definitions in the hosts file, with ::1 last, with the result that all the links to the admin functions are from ::1, and fail with a 403 error. I suspect that the "Allow From 127.0.01" lines in the configuration need to be changed to include ::1, but there may be other changes also. Regards Ian

Hi all, I am currently running a mobile server using your program and it appears to be going pretty well and my scripts work fine on the server. I am however having a few difficulties running the server in the process. It runs ok with a bit of tinkering (running the diagnostics a few times, taking the USB out and putting it back in again etc.), but the people who will actually be using the server won't be technologically savvy - they won't know where to start with the 'tinkering'. Is there any reliable way I could have a nice clean file that when double clicked would start all services reliably and boot up index.html in a browser of my choosing? My php script …

Using Uniserver 7.1.11 on Windows XP. Whenever I try to send an email, this is appended to sendmail.log (edited for privacy protection) Jan 07 16:58:45 host=smtp.myisp.com tls=off auth=off from=robert@mydomain.com recipients=robert@mydomain.com mailsize=197 smtpstatus=250 smtpmsg='250 2.0.0 Ok: queued as 448A12EA0C0' exitcode=EX_OK I then check my email with my trusty Thunderbird but nothing ever comes in. It seems the message is queued somewhere but never sent. I tried this from the command line: C:\apps\uniserver\msmtp>msmtp --file=C:\apps\uniserver\msmtp\msmtprc.ini --rmqs=@smtp.myisp.com and it does not report any error but it doesn't change anything. Hello, I'm using Uniform Server [5.5-Nano] on localhost on Windows 7, running a Perl script processing a large keyword file. I get the 504 Gateway Time-out - I understand why - it takes a lot of time to process that many keywords (I can see that the perl process is active in task manager) however after some time I get the 504 Gateway Time-out error. Is there a way to increase the timeout or remove it altogether? Thanks!

Trying to install either 7.1.15 or 8.0.0 on Windows 2000 Service. I have previously had great success with 7.1.x on Windows XP. Getting error message where the controller, server status check, etc. actions are trying to call getnameinfo or getaddrinfo in WS2_32.dll. And not succeeding. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/wi...2(v=VS.85).aspx http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/wi...0(v=vs.85).aspx Looking at the two links above, it seems that special provision must be made to call these functions under Windows 2000 Server/Professional. Is UniServer expected to run under Win2000? Help! thanks, Joe

Help. For some reason the control panel thing doesn't have the ability to shut down the server in Coral 8.0.0. I started as program, closed the control panel software (since it doesn't seem to minimize to tray) and then reopened it. All Start/Stop options seem to be grayed out. How do I shut down Apache other than killing it off from the Task Manager? See graphic below Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Hello, whenever i try to use coral as program and clicking start apache or mysql it only works a while and states "unable to start apache" /mysql When i check the status it says all ports are fee and apache nor mysql are running. Because i had problems running both uniserv 7 & 8 before i tried to delete all services through using the following on vista. sc delete ApacheS1 sc delete US_ApacheS1 sc delete MySQLS1 sc delete US_MySQLS1 The services were gone then. I believe the US_MySQLS1 wasnt installed as a service at this time. So i started coral service and i could only install mysql service. Install Apache was grey. I would rather it opened Firefox Portable from my USB, is it possible if so how do I make this change? SP

  25. I have been using Uniform Server since 5.0 and upgraded with it. In the Coral however i saw it was written in VB scripts. Is there is some advantage in using VB over php here? i am a php developer so i had the opportunity to modify the scripts as per my needs but now i have to learn VB to do so.
