Uniform Server - Windows

Hello I am setting up Uniform Server 3.5 to start programming websites with database probably php mysql i just installed uniform server 3.5 - no problem and changed the passwords etc on my panel I got a freedomaine from dydns.com .. so i have a domaine of: http://xxxxxxmydomainenamexxxxx.gotdns.com/ and im on a portable, so i have installed the dns auto updater from there too... but when i look at my http://xxxdomainxxx.gotdns.com , i only see the livebox administration page? i put up a dry index.html page in the udrive/www folder to see if it worked ok and renamed the current index.php to old... but nothing has changed... i will next try to amend the index…

It took 10 minutes to setup and the last two days have been trying to get it viewable from my ip address. I established that port 80 is not blocked by setting my router's wan interface to listen on port 80. Asked a friend in Atlanta to log in. He did. No problem with incoming port 80 traffic. I made sure the local address--192.168.254.200--was forwarding to localhost. No problem there. I followed U Central's instructions on dealing with the Apache conf file to open it to the world. No go. Hello everyone, its been a long time since my last post here I must say uniform server progressed nicely. I congratulate you on that Over the time that I use US (Uniform Server) I have find a some peculiar problems, that I cant trace where do they originate from. As the title says, all of them are related to a US Start... locally. I don't use Skype let me say that right at the start , so my 80 is free. When I run US on USB stick: Many times I do receive error message box saying that Windows cant find a redirect.html located in "W" drive. That is a default virtual drive for US. When I click OK, thats it... nothing happens. When I repeat procedure several times …

I installed 3.5 and started using Server_Start.bat. I get the purple screen with The Uniform Server logo in the middle and a message on the top of the screen that Internet Explorer has restricted this webpage from running. I click on the message and allow the blocked content to run. The purple screen remains, the tab at the top alternates between Uniform Server and Connecting, message at the bottom says waiting for http://localhost/apanel, a completion bar with green boxes flashes on and off. Seems to be hung up. HELP!!!

Hello, as you can see, i am a new person on these forums. well, my story goes, i was serching google, looking for some sort of program which i could run a small sort of server off, from my home PC, just to like put images on it and post them to the web, and i came accross this, so i thought i would download it now my quick question goes as follows: how do i set it up so that i can put images and so forth into the folders, and have it publish to the web under my IP adress ( if i new it lol) i am So very sorry if this has been asked about a million times, but i thought i might ask any way thanks, Daniel Bizzarri live_f1@hotmail.com

Hi, I have domain name where I have registered my static ip as a nameserver.. for example: ns3.mydomain.com > myIP ns4.mydomain.com > myIP I know same IP can be used for both nameservers.. as it requires 2 nameservers to work. Anyway, I have US running and I want to point my domain to my server via nameserver. Is there a way we can do this? When set my domain to point to my server via A record, it works. When I change back to nameserver, it doesn't. Any idea's?

Hi everyone I have got a problem with my site that i am testing, I have just added dns service as per instruction from the unicenter, battled with my loopback connection problem and won. The first of my problems is when I try to access my website from the web, part of my page is missing (the part produce by text editor) The second problem is when I try any other page from the same site it reverts back to localhost in the address bar Now I know you have to edit the apache2\conf with the new domain name, but do I have to write every page in the site in there as well. thanks for any help, sorry but I'm pretty green when it come to this stage of building a website, so f…

Cause when I try to add a vhost in the apanel it says that it doesn't exist!

Just downloaded the latest 3.5 version of Uniform Server as I want to use it to run a cmsmadesimple installation. Having used Uniform Server many times before it's usually pretty straightforward... however on downloading the latest version and clicking Server_Start.bat it doesn't map the W: drive it tries to bring up the apanel but just says page cannot be found. Any help would be appreiciated. Thanks Craig

ok, so i'm admittedly a complete newbie at this. i've downloaded 3.5, and have installed it. i can run the program and get to apanel, but when i attempt to load http://localhost i get an "HTTP 404 not found" message. as far as i know, i'm supposed to be able to type in 'localhost' and be redirected to apanel, but this doesn't happen. it works when i go to 'http://localhost/apanel', but 'http://localhost/' or anything like that doesn't work. i've checked to make sure IIS is disabled, i don't have a firewall running, and i'm 99% sure nothing is running on port 80 (i've done the netstat listening thing in the cmd prompt). all that i'm using uniform server for is local …

Hi, thanks in advance for helping an idiot. So, I have successfully installed Uniform Server and when I start the server I get the nice Uniform Server logo up and then get redirected to a blank apanel page. Is it because during installation it setup udrive instead of wdrive? I am running Vista. I am trying all kinds of variants including getting my site into www folder, but never can get beyond the blank apanel page Please help!

I'm trying to get SugarCRM working on Uniform server, and run into a problem. In order to fully run SugarCRM I need to have "IMAP c-client libraries enabled/compiled". All, I did a search for these questions and only found a startup-related question dated 2005 for version 3.2, so let me ask here and now: I'd like to use Uniform Server for hosting an intranet Wiki for a small workgroup. As the host machine on the LAN may change from time to time, the portability of Uniform Server is very appealing. Once everything is working, I'd like it if Uniform Server (and its components) automatically started when the XP host boots, and then cleanly shuts down when the XP host shuts down or is restarted. I am trying to install the incredible DekiWiki on Uniform Server. I've already succeeded using WOS (after many days and much 'googling') but I much prefer Uniserver... My first problem is that I cannot enable 'mod_proxy' or 'mod_proxy_http'--the server simple stops working if these modules are enabled. They are not included in standard Uniserver release but I have added them manually. Am I missing something? Or are the dependancies for Deki Wiki too many? Any ideas, hints or suggestions would be much appreciated!

I'm having problems installing PEAR from the apanel link. I've tried re-re-re-downloading the go_pear.php file from SourceForge after looking at some other board discussions. Hi I recently upgrades from 3.3 to 3.5 As in the past, I simply copied the files from the www folder and the files from the mysl folder and things worked just fine (never used the migration tool). So now the problem is that, when I try to view a page from another computer on the nerwork, I get a page saying I do not have permission!!! I never had this in the past. Didi I do somthing wrong or should I do somthing extra that I havent? regards
