Hi Guys, I've just upgraded to Mona - thanks for all the hard work... Just for kicks I thought I'd try the new (to me) UniController and hit a strange problem - running TEST illustrates... This seems really strange since "netstat -a" reveals nothing obvious and the batch files work quite happily! (No, I'm not running Skype!) Bright ideas anyone? Ta! Couch Potatoe

Dear all, 5.1 substitute unicontroller with his own controller. Starting 5.1, servers are installed as services and an icon appear in the lower bar. I noticed that in some circustances - using Vista - the icon vanishes while servers continue running: so it is necessary to stop servers using the control panel and that's not for everyone. This problem is not present in 4.x version and unicontroller. An effective control of servers for me is necessary, 'cause I'm releasing "Dokes-In-A-Pen", a LMS + Uniform Server running in a USB Pen. Hi, Contrary to others' problems with stopping Uni Server I got problems to run it in the first place (4.3 works all the time as expected). Got the UniServer5_0_beta_3.exe. When I click "start.exe" I see: (aside from bit weird english there, I do have my task bar on the left side so "bottom right" is not correct assumption). Beside above dialog, nothing else happens (nor tray icon appears). I've tried alternative_control scripts: - start_2.exe made Visual Studio debugger starting which indicates start_2 just crashed - start_server.bat - problems too I see error message refering to "C:\Documents" but I do not intend to have such folder. Hi all I am just starting with Joomla and Uniform Server and really need some help. Everything runs fine in local host with beta version and newest joomla. I have also tried version 4.3 of Universal server. I nave tried changing the configuration.php file in my joomla directory and have commented out in the Htaccess file. I have searched for a couple of days trying to make this work. Even though I would think this would be a common thing to do (let folks work on parts of a web page) the information is very scattered. Hi folks, Years ago I developed a PHP application that is available online. Today, I've taken that software and moved it into a distributable release (using Uniform Server) that will be for sale shortly. Our customers are not technical. We are at the point now where we are testing the installation process and have hit some snags. In hindsight I did not do enough testing with Uniform to make sure it could be easily used across the Windows platform. Through our testing I have come to realize that XP and Vista tend to cause a lot of problems when they run Uniform Server for the first time, particularly with MySQL. Hi, I just try to install newest Joomla CMS in my Uniformserver, and after database, I came to point to enter the name of website, my email and admin password, but there is also: Install Default Sample Data - Installing sample data is strongly recommended for beginners. I have 3.5 running on my server with no problem. I have installed 4.3 and get access denied locally and remotely. I have checked the http conf and it has the same set up eg allow from all. How do I sort this out please?

hi everyone, i need some help to be more exact i need php 4.2.2 for testing purposes [because a very nice university haven't got the time to update it and i must use this version or less] so i am thinking about 2 sollutions 1- where can i download an old version of uniserver 2a1 or 2a2? will it run on vista? 2- can i modify any current version of uniserver to downgrade php to 4.2.2 [i have managed to get the binaries for this php version from their website] thank you in advance for your help

Well, agin writing a US module, i realized, that there is no UNIFORM way of adding other progs that need to be run on server start. At least it appears to me like that. there are currently 3 ways: using the server_start.bat the unicontroller.exe and the usb_server_start.bat but: i want to add my dyndns updater, my ftp server and mailserver. where should they be added by a config file to be always started with the server ??? see my problem? i would prefer something like udrive\etc\loader.txt HIDDEN \plugins\prog1\myexefile.exe -param1 | exitcommand.exe USUAL \plugins\prog2\other.exe that file would then be processed by any loading script(batch file - looping each …

UniController complains about port 80 already being used, however Server_Start.bat starts all of the servers without an issue. I do not have IIS or Skype installed. This is version 4.3 on Windows XP 32bit, fresh download of Uniform server.

I really think, that it could help attract more users and help even more non english people. Translations would be needed. Support is welcomed. Hey, I've been using Uniform Server to develop a tool I'll be releasing soon, and I had a thought that it might be really nice to release it preinstalled and configured on The Uniform Server, but I wanted to make sure that was ok with the license. Credit will of course be given, but sometimes people still don't like it. In addition, I would love to hear thoughts on best practices for distributing configured versions of Uniform Server - most notably the mysql user - is there any way to create a different mysql user/password combination per download? I would imagine that's difficult, but I figured I'd ask. Post any other distribution tips you may have!

I have just installed 4,3 as a service and I get apanel running ok but cant access my webs that i have transferred to the udrive www folder from the diskw www folder of the old 3.3 Do i need to unistal 3.3 and if so how?

I noticed that about a minute after I kill the unidelay.exe process, it restarts itself. Does anyone know what's restarting it, and how I can permanently kill unidelay.exe? Thanks, Tom

hi, I don't have Skype running. When i perform the test, all ports are free. Then I start the server but the localhost doesn't connect. Only when I got to http://127.0.0.1 I can use the administration tools. regards, Patrick

I've been running 3.5 for quite some time now and thought I'd upgrade to 4.3 as some CMS software that I want to use appears to have compatibility issues with 3.5. So I downloaded 4.3 and installed it on my XP machine and it works fine. Having tested it out, I then downloaded 4.3 onto my main server (Vista Home Premium) and installed it alongside the 3.5 installation. I've ended the 3.5 server and rebooted the machine and then tried starting 4.3 only to get a string of errors: I've done nothing to the installation, just trying to run it 'out of the box'. My copy of 3.5 still starts and runs without any problems. Any ideas as to what might be wrong? …

I am new to uniserver and i was looking for a good beginner Dev enviroment for a new webdesigner and this looked like a pretty easy low overhead way to go. I really like what i have seen so far, aside for one little issue. if i go into Apanle and i tell it to generate and asigne an ssl cert i get 2 error messages and then i am prompted to restart apache when i try to restart apache i get an error stating that the files cannot be found in the z:\ drive. I tried copying all of the files from the udrive folder directly to the root of the cdrive "c:\" and i receive a similar error when running the usb_server_start.bat if i go to C:\UniServer\ which is were i unzipped th…

Loading up a new laptop I downloaded and ran Uniform Server 4.2-Mona and everything worked just fine. A few days ago I tried to start up the server and it failed, being unable to find redirect.html on drive z: Inserting some pauses in a copy of Server_Start.bat is discovered that after uniserv.exe ran, z: disappeared. I'm trying to run the Uniform Server 4.2 but it keeps generating an error. The script tries to map the folder at Z: drive, but it don't occur for unknown reasons. And since the Z: disc doen't not exist, usb_server_start.bat calls for inaccessible folders with .exe files. My OS is WinXP SP3 Home and my UniServer folder is located on C:\Dir with spaces\My Dropbox\ (please don't ask me to move it to a folder with no spaces on their name, I really need to run the Uniform Server on that path in order to get it synchronized with my Dropbox account. If I move the UniServer folder I will need to move also the "My Dropbox" folder and if I move this folder I will need to move the…

I have set up my virtual hosts like so: NameVirtualHost * <VirtualHost *> ServerName localhost:80 DocumentRoot /www </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *> ServerName yemmer DocumentRoot /www/yemmer </VirtualHost> However, what i notice is that if i go to: http://yemmer it takes me to /www and not /www/yemmer I have searched through the forums here and haven't found articles related to this problem.
