Uniform Server - Windows

Please post your support request under the package you have problems with.

  1. Dear Uniformserver Team, I like your product very much, i am interested, if there is (going to be?) Non Thread Safe PHP version of server? Because last Zend Loader for PHP 5.3, can support only this version. Thank you very much.

  6. See more than a few posts asking how to upgrade, and either no answer or cryptic answer. I came here looking for the same thing, here's what works for me. I am no expert, just checking out CMS systems for the odd site and a charity I do some work for. If more educated readers than I spot some glaring error or mistake please correct it, just trying to help others who're struggling. System - Windows 7 32 bit. For the sake of this example (and matching my setup) Uniserver is located at D:\Uniserver Make sure Uniserver is not running (of course).... Rename old Uniserver folder, say "D:\Uniserver-old" - don't run it from that location or your paths will change in p…

Hi I have installed Uniform Server on my PC and have installed a packaged version of Joomla 1.5 from Rockettheme which includes a theme. This has been running successfully for over a week. I installed a joomla extension called AceSEF and followed the instructions which included turning on SEF and Use Apache mod_rewrite in the Global Config screen. I changed the name of the htaccess file to .htaccess as instructed. AceSEF then reported an issue with the .htaccess file - but did not specify what. In the fron end all the links other than the home page returned a 404 error. Turning SEF off in global Config made the links work again. To test this i have also unin…

I am beginning with a clean UniServer Nano5.7.4 and default Joomla 1.5.22 install. I changed all of the UniServer security name/password [user01/open4me] combinations and set the mySQL password as above. I created my database, joom1, via phpMyAdmin. I then go to setup Joomla and get as far as the database configuration screen. - Database Type: mySQL - Host Name: localhost [and tried 127.0.0.1] - Username: user01 - Password: open4me - Database Name: joom1 At that point, I get the following error upon attempting to submit my configuration choices. Error: Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: Unable to connect to the database:Cou…

I can't find a straight answer anywhere... I currently have Carbo 6.1.4 but I get the following: - Uniform Server Version Check - Checking Version... A Newer version of the Uniform Server is available! New Version: 5.7.4-Nano Installed Version: 6.1.4-Carbo You can get the newer version from our website by clicking the link below. Uniform Server Website I was under the impression that Carbo was a VC9 version and Nano was a VC6. So, what is the exact differences of these two and when should one be utilized over the other? Running on Windows 7.

Ok I downloaded 5.7.2 and can not connect to mySQL so can not change password. So for a test I download the old 3.5 and it connected and changed password fine. It appears the admin panel is seriously bugged in the latest release and will not connect to mySQL. Latest being 5.7.2 because when I try to change password connection fails.. try to open phpmyadmin.. fails with error #2002. I tried 5.6.1.2 and it is working fine also.. definitely appears to be a major bug with the newest version.. 5.7.0 also had the bug.

  12. Hi all, As the title states I am a complete newbie and need some questions answered or maybe just have me pointed in the right direction. My scenerio is as follows: I started playing around with WAMP and Joomla to create a website for my local sports team. I have almost finished the site and want to be able to host it on my own computer (Win XP Pro box). I was reading that the WAMP i was using was only recommended for local production as it was not too secure. So I went looking for a better solution and hence how I found this product and site. I have downloaded and installed the product. I was able to backup my website and install it on the uniform server. I am able …

Ok unzipped and did not see a install dir this time , just the Task Bar goodie. I clicked the Install and run all services.. and after getting the web page i saw phpmyadmin was missing so I fired up ProcessHacker.exe and saw Apache running but Mysql was not so I went into Bin and started it. but it did not show in the admin panel. Then I figured it out I think. My.ini and my.cnf in windows.. points to the Uniform Server [5.7.3-Nano] I set this one up to run both servers versions one with PHP5 and the new install to PHP4. Am i right it would be the my.ini files or something else? Christine <<< Error file >>> [Mon Feb 14 16:53:26 2011] [notice] …

I would like the file that is referred to to replace Config.inc.php as I am trying to set up two Uniform Servers here one Apolo3.5with PHP4 and the other with PHP5 so I can use some very old PHP4 scripts,, that will be called from the new Nano server. Hi, I have looked through the wiki and forums and have found no answer to my problem. I have also tried numerous versions to no avail. At a fresh install, I get this error denying me access to anything. Also when I run server status, it returns "Not Running" however in my services I can see that the service is enabled and active. One other thing, I can connect to the MYSQL server, but I have noticed something strange, databases are showing up from another UniServer folder when that server isn't active at all. When I disable UniServer, that database is inaccessible again.

  19. Hi I was wondering how I could remove / "unmount" the "W Drive" after I'm done using Uniserver. Even if I stop all services and exit the Uniserver tray, I can still see the "W Drive" in "My Computer". Is there any way to remove or "unmount" the drive? Currently the only way I know is to reset the computer and that will successfully remove it, until the next use that is... but there must be an easier way to do it... I'm using the latest version by the way (UniServer5_7_0).

I always install Mona in my d drive root , I have that entire drive dedicated to just this project. Over the last 2 days I gone through the install process maybe 5 times, deleting everything, starting over always with the same result:>>> Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL In previous installs I never had this much difficulties. I've read many post and tried everything under the sun but still keep getting this message. I do the…

  21. As normal upgrade via the 'diff -I "/Carbo_6_0_6/UniServer\b"' and 'patch -p 1 -d Carbo_6_1_0' way, an as if redundant file, 'Carbo_6_1_0/UniServer/usr/local/mysql/my.ini.bak', jumped into my eyes ... Just wonder if it is really redundant, or a 5.1 clone, or something else ;-) Thanks

I performed a quick search and haven't found anything about this, but I fully admit that I could have missed it. If so, just point me in the right direction. During registration, I was asked for the OS which I am running Uniform Server on. Windows 7 is not on the list, so I'm guessing that the options are imply outdated (the other option being that 7 is not supported). I am running Carbo_6_0_6, freshly installed on Windows 7. The UI behaves erratically and I'm not sure whether this is a known bug or something specific to my system. I've tried to explain it as well as possible here: http://temp.marshalrusty.com/uniserver_ui.png The menu essentially pops up in the mid…

  23. I got this error when trying to connect to a remote mysql installation. mysqlnd cannot connect to MySQL 4.1+ using the old insecure authentication. Please use an administration tool to reset your password with the command SET PASSWORD = PASSWORD('your_existing_password'). This will store a new, and more secure, hash value in mysql.user. If this user is used in other scripts executed by PHP 5.2 or earlier you might need to remove the old-passwords flag from your my.cnf file My host said it is because my libmysqlclient is outdated (still using pre-4.1 authentication). However, I need to know how I can update it? Any ideas? I am using the 5.6.16 on my windows 7 machi…
