How can I upgrade apache to a newer version? Its not real important, but I'd like to know..

Hello, virtual host is not working. I get always content starting from /www/ host file is also ok. Hello, I have a small peer to peer network in my office. I have set up Uniform server with Joomla distribution, and it works excellent. I found some nice messaging components for Joomla, and wanted them up and running to use it in our LAN. Idea is that users open browser type the http://IP and see portal (joomla in this case). Before I can experiment further I have serious problem with URL's. Uniform is up and running @ 192.168.1.078 my machine. When I sit on another machine in LAN and type in browser following address: http://192.168.1.078 portal opens up very nicely. Here is the problem. How can I change Apache IP address from 127.0.0.1 to 127.0.0.100 for example? I can change port 80 to 8000 but I can't change IP address. Thank you.

Can someone tell me why I can't access the "Apache Status" option on apanel? I get this message: "You don't have permission to access /status on this server." I have edited .htaccess and commented out the three lines around deny to open my IP address, but this may not be related. Suggestions? comments?

I have read the posts about setting up Virtual Hosts, and I have it going just fine. However, I want to be able to run my development sites from several different computers using my USB drive. As I understand the virtual hosts, the virtual sites need to be included in the computer's hosts file. The problem I'm having is that when I take my USB drive to another computer the Apache configuration file is set up OK, but the computer's hosts file doesn't have the mapping. Is there any way to make Virtual Hosts portable so that I don't have to make any changes to each computer I want to use? (i.e., editing the hosts file)

Hi. I am about to begin hosting websites for a few friends using Uniform Server, but how do I host multiple domains? Should I use seperate servers or can I do this from one computer? I am a new memeber, just now I describe my problem of "testing server " didn't work in detail, but I got the error and my message disappeared. Now I only simply try again. Please help! I regularly get a dos window appear then dissaper as my localhost test site are working away being served. Im using version 3.3 I'm running specificly joomla cms. Does this happen to anyone else. I am sorry to see that I can no longer run the uniform server as a service and have to start the thing every time i reboot. Am I missing something?? thanks mojito

Just installed Uniform Server for Windows... not the most technical person so pls forgive this base question. The default install has a directory /www/ where the public site files "go", but the module I'm trying to work with.. the public folder is /httpdocs/ (and I've seen other variations on various server installations). I thought I could change a configuration setting so I could use the directory name /httpdocs/ instead, but I don't see anything anywhere to do that. Can you'all point me in the right direction...?

I am attempting to set up a "Wiki on a Stick" following the advice at: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_on_a_stick The installation went remarkably smoothly, with Uniform Server 3.3 and MediaWiki 1.6.6 on Windows 2000 SP3. I've installed MediaWiki before on a hard drive, so everything appeared successful, and the functional Wiki appears fully operational. Too good to be true, right? Right. Ok, I have a strange problem. I have a flash based website that I copied to the server folder. That page seems to work fine. However, now that I have uploaded new .swf files my webpage will not serve these new swf files! If it type them in directly in the url I get an error saying page can not be displayed after some delay, just sits there doing nothing, or I get some error showing the server name ect... Its not real consistant.. However if I type in a url to my first flash file it loads with no problem

I have many problems. I cant see my http web from out. I have a router. I only can see my hosted web on local (127.0.0.1 or localhost). I search from change server address and put a no-ip DNS but I dont find a good .ht file. Another problem is with PHP webpages. I create my database in mysql. Configure it. But when a try to see in local say me this: "You are using an Invalid IP to access this site!". Thank you very much.

I installed uniserver 3.3 yesterday and I ran into some problems getting the server to work from outside my intranet. I setup my server on my home pc, which uses a wireless connection to connect to my wireless router, which connects via cable modem to the internet. I have dynamic ip but from past experiences, the ip address does not change very often. Since I will be using this server on a port other than 80 (isp blocks outgoing 80), I have port forwarding setup to pass any incoming requests to my pc. Hi I'm running Uniform Server 3.3 on my local computer (developping/testing) and I've used it for about a week now. I had another testing server before. Strange: today I've started the server as usual, but all I get is a white screen. There is absolutley nothing there. I didn't do anything out of ordinary the last couple of days (opdates for instance), so I can't figure it out what's wrong. When I'm starting the server I'm been redirected as usual to the /apanel/, but nothing. It seems like there is no server. Though I don't get any error when starting. hi, i had the bright idea to setup ldap authentication for my site but since i have got this working i've been wandering how do i tell who has logged in(besides sifting through access logs) so I can present them with there settings, preferences and log their activities, ie, sending mail, updating database. i'm hoping that apache has a variable which i can access immediately after the login, and populate a global variable. i have used the mod_auth_ldap module for authentication. i checked the docs on this module but there isn't anything which indicates this is possible. thanks again

yea i just got a simple share net work drive 400GB on a windows xp pro & i have tryed ever thing & got the The Uniform Server set up as a service the drive is maped ever time i start up my pc any ideas on geting it to work i have been told that it is a rights problm under windows

I've googled on the Internet, and it's just quite a pain browsing into the results.. and i saw that luckily there's a forum exclusively for this webserver type... so is there any step-by-step procedure on how to create a subdomain using Uniform Server 2.6...
