Uniform Server - Windows

I tried to Google and look through Uniform Server documentation but I cannot find any information on why it is not possible to use neither APC nor eAccelerator with it. I have stopped all servers, went to PHP Extensions Enable/Disable and they are not listed there. Then I also went to eAccelerators and APC's panel and neither of them have boxes checked and it is not possible to check these checkboxes either. What am I doing wrong? I even searched through the entire Uniform Server archive and did not find any DLL's for APC.

Hello, I've noticed that MySQL performance was really bad (i.e. took seconds to load simple page) after moving my website from 3rd-party hosting provider to my own server which was running on UniServer. First, I thought that MySQL was badly configured, so I've tried to tweak the config file (mostly upping allowed memory usage, etc.) after reading a few tutorials. It didn't help and reinstalling UniServer to the most recent version didn't help either. Today, I've started measuring the php script execution time and I found out that the problem isn't caused by bad configuration or UniServer itself, but Windows 7's IPv6 issue. Hello, Using 8.5.4 - and in my local install of Wordpress everything is working fine but when i try to edit thumbnails that were auto created by NextGen gallery. The left panel is blank without the image to generate a new thumbnail. I tested it on a live server backend and it works. So it means i have to turn something on here in my Uniform Server. Hello everyone, I wanted to upgrade my UniServer installation to the latest version, but there was no patch, so I had to reinstall the whole server and reconfigure everything again. It was pretty painful and time consuming, I must admit. So I have decided to make a patch generator. Took me almost whole day to make. Yay! Here is the first working version. Hi all, I'm running Coral 8.5.4 as a testing server for a static website. It's installed on my WinXP local machine. I have a directory /docs/ (as in /www/docs/) where all the document attachments such as .pdf and .doc live. While navigating localhost in a web browser, any link to a document in localhost/docs/ results in a 404 error, even though the link address is not wrong, and I can clearly see the allegedly missing file present in /www/docs/ when I browse via Windows Explorer. I use Uniform Server to test and develop joomla sites. localhost/sitea localhost/siteb/ etc within the joomla config though the host is given as just localhost for all the sites. if i set the host as lcoalhost/sitea then the database connection dies... this is what I could use some help to understand...so in a way I guess joomla is using the host value to connect to the db - but when i created the db it was created using phpmyadmin kind of out of the box... where do i make the changes...the site works apart from images specified like /images/test.jpeg as this should be here /sitea/images/test.jpg so I want the root of each site to be the sites root not localhos…

I just tried to upgrade to 8.5.6, but uni_con_service.hta throws a script error at me. Screenshot attached. When I click that message away, the console pops up, but is in an unusable state--no matter whether I say Yes or No.

Hi All, Kind of old debate of web-server. If you aren't aware simply google "Apache vs nginx vs cherokee vs Lighttpd", you will find endless comparison's Apache stands last. After having once clicked on Start_as_service I changed my mind and wanted to run Uniserver as program. After restarting my computer and clicking on Start_as_program, the Start/Stop servers window buttons are greyed out and on the server status window it states "Apache install status = Installed as a service " and "MySQL install status = Installed as a service ". I was trying to find the services to uninstall/kill them but could not identify them. I would be thankful for advice. UniServer_8_5_4 Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

8.5.5 ERROR When starting as program I get this error: Line: 681 Char: 2 Error:ActiveX component can't create object Code: 0 URL file:///C:/USCoral/uni_con/uni_con_program.hta I can start Apache & mySQL as Service, but I get the same error when trying to start phpmyadmin. This error occurred only after I installed 2 instances and was trying to use phpmyadmin to implement replication. Before that no error. After stopping apache & mySQL , I deleted the US folders and downloaded a new 8_5_5 and re-installed, but error persisted.

Hello all, thanks for reading. I have the following problem: When I start UniServer, at first it works, but it shuts down after 4-5 seconds. Left: "Server Status" window right after I click "Start UniServer (Apache MySQL)". Right: "Server Status" window 4-5 seconds after. Left: localhost/apanel/ right after I click "Start UniServer (Apache MySQL)". Right: localhost/apanel/ 4-5 seconds after (the google message says: "Oops! Google Chrome couldn't stablish connection with the localhost page"). I'm using Windows XP and firewall is shut down. If you need any further information, just ask and I'll answer ASAP! I was suddenly kicked off of Apanel and then locked out. I'm running Mona 4.3 (please don't tell me to upgrade) and I'm locked out of apanel. Initially it asked for username & password, which it rejected. I do know my username & password. I doubled checked at: Z:\htpasswd\home\admin\www Z:\htpasswd Z:\htpasswd\www At Z:\home\admin\www\.htaccess I "Allow from all" and commented out: #AuthName "Uniform Server - Admin Panel 2.0" #AuthType Basic #AuthUserFile /htpasswd/home/admin/www/.htpasswd #Require valid-user I even deleted Z:\home\admin\www\.htaccess , but still locked out.. I looked in the folder where the latest version of Coral is, and Uniform Server 8.5.5 isn't in that folder, what's wrong?

Does ANY version of this software work reliably within Windows 7 x32 and/or x64?? I've tried 8.0.0 -- crash, crash, crash... 8.5.1 won't work at all... Can only use program mode, services mode does not work... What version is the most reliable for working within Windows 7??? I really like this app because it's so easily portable etc. and hate to have to give it up... Thank you, Tom

I downloaded 8.5.4-Coral a few days ago, and it works fine. But today I say PHP 5.4.4 released as well as 8.5.5-Coral. Is there a way I can update to this version? Thanks!

I install forum VBB, but VBB require eAccelerator upgrade to 0.9.3 or newer. How to upgrade eAccelerator. I try download new version uniformserver to install vbb, but i got more error can not install this. So i want to use old version of uniformserver (7.0.9 Orion) to install vbb.

Two days ago I installed coral 8.5.4 version and everything was fine but after 2 hours Apache service stops. I manually restart the service but after some time it again stopped. Hi Am running Coral on a USB stick in windows. I previously had 3.5 working fine. Coral is working well except for a url problem. When I start the server or try to open phpmyadmin I get redirected to localhost:127/us_...etc and get an "Unable to connect". When I change the :127 to :80 it connects fine. Apache port is 127. I can't find where the urls in redirect.html get generated. I did find "This part of the URL http://localhost:80/ is automatically adjusted to match the server port configuration" (start_user_configuration.html#Change Splash Page). Why is this happening?

Hi, I installed Joomla 2.5.4 on Uniserver 8.5.1 That works. I stored a new Joomla template in a subdirectory under the template directory. In Joomla administrator I discovered the new template and installed it. Result: blank screen. Refresh. Result: message template is already installed. Via Extension management I can see the new template as installed and active. Via Extensions/templatemanagement the template is not visible. So it can not be used. Who can tell me what to do now? Upon running Start_as_program.exe from Coral 8_0_0 I get the script error: Line:1979 Char:3 Error: Permission Denied Code:0 URL: file:///C:/.../UniServer/uni_con/includes/core_functions_inc.vbs Running the scripts anyway the program opens but I do not receive a prompt to set the MySQL root password as the wiki says I should. http://wiki.uniformserver.com/index.php/Co...art_quick_start Is there something wrong on my end causing the problem?
