Is it possible to upgrade from 3.2a to 3.3 without having to disturb anything already installed. I have apache/mysql running as a service and 3.2a installed in C:\Uniform3_1_1s\ Which files should be replaced in order to upgrade? Also where can I find a changelog for v3.3? One more thing you might want to update http://miniserver.sourceforge.net/version.html to show version 3.3. edit : Also does the PEAR package work in 3.3, I could never get it to work on 3.2a, it always said class pear not found fatal error.

Hello Olajide, just downloaded the most recent release US 3.3 (while trying to guide a friend on an install over the phone). I mirrored the setup in order to see what was happening on his end, and I got my server to start (in about 15 seconds from the download), but his gave a user/password needed. I looked through the admin panel, and there are 3 lines in the Security Checklist. The first one reads: Change the username:password for the Admin Panel by editing '/htaccess/home... Should that read '/htpasswd?? (instead of htaccess) I thought of creating my own password, so I went over to the config file at \home\admin\www\.htaccess and un-commented the 4 lines, whi…

Hi, I just moved my server to a new location. After setup, Uniserver is no longer correctly functioning. When I run start.bat, I get "The server is working on the disk w:\ [http/127.0.0.1/a/]" and it places me in the W:\user\local\Php directory. However, it doesn't create the W:\ directory. Notes: It was working correctly before the move. No other server problems. I use port 8040 instead of 80 when it does work. OS: Windows Server 2003 Sign: Aries Jacob

I just unzipped the server new and started the server. Apanel looks impressive. I go to http://142.217.17.58 which is my IP address. It shows the directory but it says nothing exists, I have 4 folders in my www folder. I tried to go to http://142.217.17.58/nobrand/ which is one of the folders in my www folder. It displays a page not found. I'm pretty mad since I've been waiting for this new version.

I've installed Uniserver, it was working perfectly for two days or so, i shut down the server to restart the comp. Then after restarted the comp, I started UniServer again. The Server appears to start, my browser opens up and says "...redirect.html cannot be found" Same happens w/ http://localhost/a/. The W Drive doesn't appear. What Is wrong? I've tried reinstalling several times, but it's not working.

Hi Bit of newby at all this. I installed US to get Tracks working and that works just fine. I now want to get Wordpress working locally as well. Has anyone done this? I found some instructions but they are for WAMP and key instructions are not translating easily. If anyone can point me in the right direction for installation instructions I would be grateful. JNB

Ever since screwing up my httpd.conf pretty bad recently I've been vigilant with the task manager. Also, I just edited my stop bat to make sure it also shuts down mysqld-opt.exe since it kept runnig if I just used the stop.bat. Everything "seems" to be ok now, but... sOOOooooo,... I have Apache listed twice in the task manager. One process is using 8,812K and the other 14,460K while pretty much idle. Is this normal? I'm running US3.2a on a PIII 1.0G Intel desktop board with 512M curly ps. how's that imaginary nurse?... pretty sweet, rieeeet?!

I've got the following, with an old UniformServer-release, and the latest release: When I click start.bat a commandwindow pops up which says that the server has started and the browser redirects to http://localhost/a/. The page is totally blank and no W:-disk is made. I've got this problem since a month, after I had reinstalled my computer. Anybody an idea what may be the cause? I liked UniformServer so much...

Hello I had installed Uniform Server and phpMyAdmin and was delighted with it. Unfortunately I tried to start a database and to reset lots of passwords. Completely screwed it up! Now I get the error message "MySQL said: #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) " I have been thrashing around in config files altering passwords and names to no avail. I have no data to lose so would be happy to make a clean start if possible. There is a fair amount of wreckage of earlier failed attempts of separate MySQL and Apache and php installations and I did have a Wamp Server installed. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing but got the same …

Since I got a new computer I haven't been able to get UniServer to work (same with my boyfriend). Whenever I access my IP it goes to my Home Gateway. I've tried fiddling around with files, and I've done exactly the same things from when I set up UniServer on my old computer (edited access file, unblocked port etc), but my server still can't be accessed by other people. Is there a way around this problem? Or a step by step userguide to see if I'm missing out any setup steps? Not a major priority at the moment, just procrastinating (currently on exam study leave)

Hello All this is the most repeated problem to me when using uniform server, from it's past versions, I still use this due to the passion I have on this and due to it's no registry dust concept which I too like. ----------- ingeneral, it occurs in differnet scenarios like, 1)when I click on start.bat of another copy of uniform server (unknowingly) while one copy of uniform server is running, 2) when I click on start.bat or start.vbs of the uniform server when the same copy is running, when this situation occur, I get 404 for redirect.html file which will be triggered (when start.bat file is clicked upon) and server donot get started, -------------------- …

Well to say the learning curve has been long would be an understatement. After a day of trying to set up a WAMP on my own, I found many that do it inherently. Uniserver is definitely the lightest and most reliable - yeah me! Ok now the problem is I have no idea how to enable PHP-Nuke. I know it likely has something to do with the config.php for Nuke, but I am unsure how to set the info and to what. I am certain that since uniserver is consistent the info is likely staring me in the face, but I feel the need for help at this point. Here is what the config.php looks like: I suspect that lots of this can stay the same, but I am not sure where to point the rest. So I h…

I too am having problems with starting uniserver. It ran fine for 6 mounts and I really appreciate how well it works. I uninstalled Skype and everything I could think of. Is there a way to see what programs are listing to what ports? Many thanks and keep up the great work Ron

In the past, I haven't had problems running UniServer from whatever USB Drive I've installed it on. That is until recently. When attempting to run UniServer on any of the computers in my home network, I get the message that drive w is busy, even when I know that I haven't mapped the drive. The mystery is this, on both of the two systems, I can create a synchonized copy of the entire site (using Window's "Briefcase") or run UniServer "Stand Alone" on either computer, UniServer runs fine. To further deepen the mystery, when I go to school (college) and run UniServer off the same USB Drive that "fails" at home, the server is "pleased as punch" to run on the USB Drive a…

I'm just getting my feet wet in HTML, etc. Most of the HTML pages I want to serve from Uniform Server are located under C:\UniServer3_2a\diskw, i.e., the W:\ drive, along with their supporting images and scripts. But one of the pages I want to provide is an image-map that points to a LARGE collection of U.S. Sectional Maps in .jpg format, as provided by zovirl here: http://zovirl.com/2005/maps/sectionals/Sec...005_06_05/about The image-map .htm file and all the .jpg files are over on the C: drive, so I figured my link should look like: <a href="file://C:/SectionalCharts/index.html">Zovirl US Sectionals</a>... (I also tried with 3 /// slashes after the …
