Uniform Server - Windows

Please post your support request under the package you have problems with.

  1. I have tried several times to start the uniform server as a program or as a service using Windows 8 Enterprise 64bit, and also Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 bit, and in both systems when one double-click on 'start-as-program' or 'start-as-service' it will ask for the user-account-control=confirmation, after answering YES to this window then it gets killed by the Windows 8 Command Processor. ... Windows Command Processor has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. --- I have tried using Vmware Workstation 10 to run it in a virtual machine running Windows 7 32 bi…

  4. Hello everyone, so how do you backup it? Do you have some fancy app to do it for you? Because I couldn't find anything, I wrote a small batch file that will backup whole UniServer directory using 7zip archiver, which will run in lowest priority on CPU's second core, so it won't overload the server. You can set password for the backup archive and extra output path, where the backup will be copied. Normally, it would only make one copy of the backup in directory "UniServer\backup", using this filename format: "uniserver_date(backup number).7z", so you can make more backups per day, without overriding the older backups. It will also backup all your databases by expli…

  5. I installed UniServer on a Windows 8 laptop and it's been great for a while but when I tried to do it on a Windows 7 desktop I get a Script Error. The Win 7 desktop used to have Wampserver on it and I uninstalled it and deleted the wamp directory but that's all. Here's the Script Error: Line: 896 Char: 1 Error: Could not complete the operation due to error 800a01ad. Code: 0 Do you want to continue running scripts on the page? Yes/No Either way it just spins the Icon. If I close the program and re-open it, it shows as started but everything is messed up. WordPress permalinks for example won't even run right but it can see the database and let me do some stuff in adm…

Ok have tried to set up the following vhosts # # Virtual Hosts # # If you want to maintain multiple domains/hostnames on your # machine you can setup VirtualHost containers for them. Most configurations # use only name-based virtual hosts so the server doesn't need to worry about # IP addresses. This is indicated by the asterisks in the directives below. # # Please see the documentation at # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/vhosts/> # for further details before you try to setup virtual hosts. # # You may use the command line option '-S' to verify your virtual host # configuration. # # Use name-based virtual hosting. # #--US_START--------------Do not remov…

  7. I have used Coral for a long time without any problems, I now read that there is a Zero version of Uniform Server, which has newer version of PHP and other features and is still 'servers are ready to run either from a USB memory stick or PC.' But this is not true, differently from Coral, I need to have admin rights to run the servers. Why are admin rights needed now, when they were not needed before and is there an alternative? Is Zero meant only for administrators?

I installed it on my local drive and it started just fine. I then tried to install it on a mapped network drive, but the start_as_program.exe just brings up a blank window that is pointed at "c:\Windows\uni_con\uni_con_program.hta. It does work if I run this .hta file directly from NETWORKINSTALL\uni_con\uni_con_program.hta

I have been using uniform server for quite a wile now with no issues. I recently updated the version of a CMS I am testing on my Windows configuration and I keep getting this error: mysqld-opt.exe encountered a problem and needs to close. In the XP event viewer I see this: Faulting application mysqld-opt.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.6055, fault address 0x00019af2. There is nothing in the uniform server error logs The CMS developers say it's an issue with MYSQL and Windows and it has nothing to do with their CMS althoguh if that's the case I really don't understand why it has only recently started happening. It happens at th…

  11. I tried running Uniserver Micro Php Miniserver on Windows XP Pro (in virtualbox, if you need to know), and I keep coming across this error that no one that I've Googled has come across. When running Uniserver Micro Php Miniserver it comes up with this error message: "Failed to execute: 14001" "Press OK to ignore and risk data corruption" "Press Cancel to kill the program" I press OK and still it fails to run, which only leaves me with the other option, cancel. Has anyone else come across this error? If so what is the problem and how is it fixed? Note I used UniServerMicro_1_0_11.exe if that helps.

I notice that Coral 8.8.8 has been released, and I thought I'd take advantage to upgrade my old 8.0.0 setup. I remember that back when I installed 8.0.0 over an old 7.x.x setup, there were many questions in the forum about how to run a simple upgrade and, back then, there were some suggestions about renaming directories, reinstalling, and copying across various configuration files (but no definitive list of which files to keep). It seems that it's much the same story, still, which is a pity because, with a simple and intelligent upgrade procedure it seems to me that Uniform server would be easily the best WAMP setup around. The reason that I prefer to use a pre-roll…

I got a new computer with Windows 8 on it -- which sucks, by the way. I keep getting the new and improved BSOD when I run Uniform Server -- both as a program and as a service. When it crashes, the last few entries (before the crash) into MySQL aren't showing up in phpMyAdmin, but I keep getting the error: Duplicate entry '[number]' for key 'PRIMARY' They've got to be around somewhere. Where do I find them so I can edit/delete or . . . something?

  15. Ive been struggeling for over 6 months to get my OSCMax (an OScommerce variant) off my dying LAMP server and onto a new WAMP server using Uniserver. I want to install Uniserver, Install OSCMAX with the intention of immediatly going live with the site. No localhost stuff. I've tried installation several times but when I go to the OSCMAX catalog page it loads fine, but if I navgate from that page I get a white screen. The same thing happens in the OSCMAX admin panel. I can load the login screen, but after login, I get a white screen. here is some parameters host name is - store domain is www.mywebsite.com FQDN is store.mywebsite.com What should the servername be in a…

  16. I am thinking of upgrading my dear old computer form XP (didn't much fancy Vista at the time of building!) to Windows 7. I have been using Uniform Server for a while now and as a web designer it is utterly essential to me! I am running 5.5a-Nano (old I know but I have had not reason to upgrade and made so many custom settings and what not I can't rememebr what I've done!) - will this run OK on Windows 7? Is there any reason why it wouldn't? If all is OK and I upgrade, will changes I made to the to the hosts file be erased? I have set up a subdomain (cms.localhost) and don't want to lose that.

  17. So, I tried this with Steel 9 RC5, 8.7.3 is ok. (I stoped all process and removed them before testing with 9). 1-When Apache and MySQL aren't placed as services and started through the unitray, ok all work fine. 2-When Apache and MySQL are placed as services through unitray, so the unitray got greyed out (disbled menus). But the services are started correctly, but I lose the unitray functions. The screen shows my computer after start, so I clicked on unitray. Sorry for the bad english, I'm from Brazil.

  18. Hi there, I've been working fine with Coral 8.6.8 on a Windows 7 SP1 x64 machine. But now, every time I click "Start_as_program" or "Start_as_service", an error message pops up saying there's a script error. Something to do with uni_con_service.hta. The dialog box asks if I want to continue executing scripts, I click Yes but the console appears looking crazy and the servers throw another error when trying to start. I downloaded and tried version 8.7.3 and this error also occurs. I read multiple topics about this kind of error in the forums. I read the help file also, namely the "VC9 Libraries" part. I have installed / repaired the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 runtime l…

  19. Wildcard Subdomains for Wordpress MultiSite Network This is prior to installing Wordpress and the Network. I've found a bunch of tutorials and articles online for doing this with XAMP etc. As a part of a Local Wordpress MultiSite Network with SubDomains, I need the ability to access the created SubDomains.wp.dev i.e. *.wp.dev that would be generated by Wordpress Sites Of course, Windows HOSTS has limitations in supporting this by itself. There are some ways using Acrylic DNS to bypass Windows HOST file wildcard limitation. UPDATE: Can DtDNS do something here? 20. First thanks for that nice piece of software. I had to check the PHP code of someone, and thanks to this portable WAMP, it was really easy and fast to do. A tiny annoyance I ran into is that I have MySQL installed on my developer PC, and I first have to stop it before running Start_as_program.exe (the PHP code I had to check was simple and didn't use any DB). It could be useful to only display a message but still allow the user to continue. Then the "Start MySQL" button would be disabled. Thanks.

Hello, I am looking for a way to change a config file or even create a batch file that will autostart Apache and MySQL instead of having to open Start_as_program and click the button that says "Start Both". Sorry if this has been stated somewhere already, but I have been unable to find it. Also, I tried creating a batch file that runs Start_as_program and then runs the start-apache.bat/start-mysql.bat files and it comes up with port errors. Any help would be great! =]

Well i solved the problem but i guess it could be looked into. Well the problem was i got denied accessing Phpmyadmin. It tried going localhost but in the config files it only allow from 127.0.0.1 and for a uniform/mysql/php newbie as myself it's hard too know at start. So a tip would be to either change allow to localhost or have both 127.0.0.1 and localhost in the .htaccess in C:\UniServer\uni_con\includes. Using win 7.
