When the server is running i am not able to access it from outside. The IP-address is found, but then it is bounced with error message 403. Could this have to do with a firewall on the machine where the server is running ? Or some other settings somewhere? Please advice, cheers, JH

I've been running US 3.1 for awhile now and have been really happy with it so I need to throw in a monkey wrench! Is there a guide on updating US from a previous version to the latest without changing any of your settings or destroying the preciouse data held in your mysql tables? Or is my best bet to just start from scratch and make the necessary changes to the .htaccess files (and other files i don't remember) and create the mysql tables again? This server is just so damn stable I've forgotten most of the changes that will need to be made from a clean install.

Hi I am just in the process of moving my website to Uniform Server & must say I like what I see, keep up the good work, now for my question. I have seen talk of the .htpasswd file for locking down access to certain parts of a website, I don't have this file in my installation, do I need to create this file myself & if so how as windows will not let you create a file with just an exstention. thanks for any & all help. Hallo, I had Uniserver up and running to test out help desk software for my company on my own PC. we've now set up a win2k server and it's up and ready to move everything over. I know that I need mysql and php, can I still use uniserver on IIS? do I have to install mysql and php separately? What versions do you recommend? I pretended I could use uniserver on IIS. I moved everything to the wwwroot folder and started up the server/disk engine, then it opened the localhost/a/ and gave me "page not found." I don't understand enough about IIS to know what I need to change! I've been all over the wiki and the forums. by the way, the search feature here doens't work at a…

Hi, I'm a noob to Uniform Server so sorry if this is a lame ass prob. Wanted to try US as a quick and easy way to setup a dev enviroment. I'm trying it on a W98 Second Edition box but it won't start. First I downloaded UniServer3_2.exe, installed it to C:\UniServer3_2. When I run start.bat I get the message ERROR!!! One of the instances of Apache server is started. Use stop.bat . Press any key to continue . . . This box has nothing running except the bare minimum required to run the OS. Never the less I ran Process Viewer and confirmed nothing else was running. Next I downloaded UniServer3_1.exe, installed it to C:\UniServer3_1. When I run start.bat I get …

Hello! I have a problem. I downloaded Uniserver 3.2, I started start.bat, device w has been created. But if I type http://localhost/a/ or http://127.0.0.1/a/ in Internet Explorer (or Mozilla), it writes: The page is not found. But it find http://localhost/ If I started any PHP file fromf PHPMyAdmin folder nothing happened, they didn't load. I started php.exe, mysqlrun.bat, but it isn't work. I tried Unitray, but nearly every http://localhost/... page didn't load. I have WinXP SP1 and I haven't installed any other PHP, MySQl, Apache software. I'm behind a proxy (because of university), so i tried to turn off proxy, shut down my firewall but it didn't work, too. The index.h…

ok.. i'm getting the page cannot be found error when i run start.bat. i'm on windows xp, when i try to ping localhost:80 it cannot find it. i also have nortons installed and i understand this is a major issue with getting it to work. is norton's making my localhost:80 not return a ping? has anyone found a way to get it to work with nortons? i would rather not uninstall it so new into my subscription. also on a cable modem with a netgear router. never installed apache or anything else before. i did try foxserv AFTER i couldnt get uniserve to work, but that one didnt work either.

I've been running uniserver without any issues for awhile. I just want to say thanks to the developers because I have been able to use this program at work and run php support tickets locally for my own documentation use. Anyhow, we recently switched to windows xp sp2 from w2k and I cannot even get the drive w to mount. Even when I change the drive letter it still will not start. Even when I run stop.bat several times and then try start.bat again...it just won't start. I tried the suggestion of another user to use SUBUST...but I do not have permission to use that command. Is there anything else I can do??? Thanks in advance for your help!

I havent used US in a while and I recently got it back because im starting a CMS project of my own and also to help myself teach myself PHP Anyway, I extracted the entire zip/rar file into a folder called UniformServer on my desktop. It works fine. Then after I shut it down or restart my computer. When i use start.bat everything loads fine. The start page comes up. But when I click any links such as start mysql or phpmyadmin it gives me a blank page. Plus apache and mysql are not running in the processes, shoudnt they be? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. //Matt

hi sometimes i hibernate my pc to continue working on things the next day, without having to open everything again. after wake up from hibernation uniserver reports "the disk w is busy. use start.bat [disk letter]" stop.bat doesnt help. i understand, that i can change w to something else in start.bat, but would there be an other way of free up the drive letter w under windows 2000/xp? i guess its a windows specific problem, but maybe somebody could help - had no luck with google so far.
