You guys dont make it easy to upgrade from one version to another. Seems like you have yet again changed the directory structure. Previously, was uniserver\home\admin\www\phpmyadmin NOW its UniServer.8.1.1\home\us_phpmyadmin as an example. Whats with all the US's???? Might not seem like a big thing to you guys, but it seems i have to update the web server upgrade instructions that i pass to my team every 6 months or so. It usually takes me a day or two to narrow down all the changes, document them and get the websites up and running in the new configuration. A day which i would much better spend doing many other things. Is it possible for you guys to make it easie…

I saw my apache access.log and got something like this: Not only from this, but there's many other IP with the same request pattern. How to stop it, and is this safe for Uniserver?

I recently just built a new computer and I am trying to install UniServer. This happens with both 8.2.0 and 8.3.0. But everytime I try to install Apache as a service it comes up with an error saying Apache has stopped working and is closing down. What's the problem? Using Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

I have a fairly fresh install of Windows Server 2008 R2, on a 3-year old 8-core Xeon server with 24 Gb RAM. I started using 8.0.0 on this machine about two weeks ago. During that time I noticed Apache crashing every once in a while, perhaps every few hours. I'd installed it as a service, and it came back so I did not think much about it. Getting close to my deployment time, I upgraded my setup to 8.2.0 and am still experiencing Apache crashes. However, when that version's Apache crashes, it does not come back. Even though it's a Service. I thought that was the point of running them as a service - that, and relaunches after reboots. So I tried downloading UniServer …

When I first boot 8.1.1 when it asks to change the root password for MySQL i receive the error in the attached picture. I can still change the password through the menu in coral with no issues at all. All other scripts seem to work fine as well. It's just that first boot splash screen. For now I just click no to the automated prompts at that initial start and continue with business as usual. Just wanted to pass this along.

Hi there, I've recently tryed out the new 'Coral' version. But everytime I try to start the server I get a system beep for some unknown reason and everything goes funny. For example, MySQL may start, but not Apache etc. Even changing the default MySQL root password doesn't even finish successfully. Then the control panel hangs and doesn't seem to know what's happening. In the end I have to restart the system. I have gone back to version 7.1.15 which I might add was alot simplier and WORKED well, but the trouble is I can no longer keep up-to-date. On a side note, can't we just have 2 versions running side by side, Orion and Coral, that way we can all use the one we p…

After I boot into XP I can start Coral without a hitch, everything’s fine. If I stop the servers AND exit the program, however, I can’t restart the program without rebooting. I’ve only been using Coral for a couple weeks, so I don’t know if this has been going on from the start, or if it’s something that cropped up along the way. It’s annoying because I use my computer for a variety of things and find myself switching from using Coral, to not using it, to using it etc. There are no sql or httpd processes to kill either, since they’re gone after I stop the program. I’ve never run it as a service. Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

I have installed Uniserver 8 (Coral) on a 2003 Server PC. The file root is c:/UniServer. When I run the Start_as_program.exe I get a script error as follows: Line: 423 Char: 8 Error: Invalid use of Null: 'Split' Code: 0 URL: file:///C:/UniServer/uni_con/includes/core_functions_inc.vbs If I continue the server program window appears but when I select start Apache I get another script error: Line: 893 Char: 4 Error: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. Code: 0 URL: file:///C:/UniServer/uni_con/includes/core_functions_inc.vbs I assume the vbscript is…

What windows operating system would you use for a home web server if you had your choice and why? Please I am looking for solid advice I am not taking a poll asking what your favorite operating system currently is, I am looking for the best windows OS to use for a home web server and why. If you want to give info on using a linux based system thats cool too I am just not use to using linux stuff I have played with Ubuntu for a few hours but thats about it I would not be opposed to running a linux based home server since once its running I would not be messing with it much. The box this server will run on would have the minimum amount of apps installed, and just be …

Just installed Coral 8.0.0 on a Windows 2000 Server. The control panel is attempting to call functions that don't seem to exist in DLLs: "The procedure entry point getnameinfo could not be located in the dynamic link library WS2_32.dll" MSDN seems to indicate support for this function, sorta. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/wi...2(v=VS.85).aspx Seems as though "special accommodation" needs to be made to call it under Win2000. My question - is Uniform Server supported on Windows 2000 (Professional or Server)? My previous V7 installations were on Windows XP. also problems with getaddrinfo function Installed logged in as administrator. Will not run as …

I have a line of code that invokes the 'system()' function, and the command passed to the 'system()' function is the 'tar' command. This code works perfectly when I run it on my (Linux) production server; when I run it on the 'Uniform Server', I get an empty file as its output. Can anyone tell me why this doesn't work and if there is a way to make it work? Thank you very much. (This addendum I am adding several hours later.) My question is ridiculous. I realized shortly after posting my question (when I was no longer at home near my computer) that the 'system()' command can only execute Windows commands. Since 'tar' is not a Windows command, there is no way my c…

I've only used xampp before using uniform server (not new to web servers etc., just new to Uniform/Coral) and I want to move the files into another server which is on the internal LAN to serve websites in development phase... How do I enable uniform server to serve http://hostname/ vs. http://x.x.x.x/?? Thank you, Tom P.S. Never mind, I figured it out, it must be on a server in the domain. Thank you anyway...

Alright, I recently made it so that my server instance will star on windows booting/login. I am now trying to make it so that the splash screen doesn't open up after startup as it opens up Chrome right away (which has a number of tabs open) that I usually like to open up last after opening a few other programs. What do I need to do to go about this?

This issue seems to be getting a lot of people... Fresh install of Windows Server 2008 R2, with 0 Roles installed, meaning I removed the Web Server (IIS) Role, and all it's dependencies were auto-removed at that time as well. I read posts here describing similar situations, followed their advice, but still the issue persists. I followed the advice here: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1362841 Where a post suggested disabling these services: 1) WebClient <- was running, I stopped & set for manual start 2) Web Deployment Agent Service <- does not exist as a service (perhaps removed when I removed the IIS role?) 3) Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN. &…

Hi, I have written a guide to secure the Uniform Server and lock it down at the NTFS level for a production environment. In the process I noticed that apache loads libmysql.dll library from X:\Uniserver\usr\local\mysql\bin instead of loading it from X:\Uniserver\usr\local\php as I've seen from previous versions. In my attempt to lock down my Uniserver I denied apache's access (NTFS permissions) to X:\Uniserver\usr\local\mysql folder. I copied libmysql.dll to my PHP folder and edited apache's httpd.conf to load the libmysql.dll from the new location (X:\Uniserver\usr\local\php) Is it there any specific reason why UniServer Coral 8.0.0 is delivering the libmysql.dll in …

Any advice on increasing performance once you have your Uniform Server setup on a Windows machine so it will run faster during operations like performing a backup or restore in myphpadmin with large databases like over 100 meg? Suggestions? As always thanks.
