Hello everyone I've installed uniform server 5.6, and wondering is there a way to update apache php and mysql ? is it safe to use that version ? or not

  2. Started by Tolodine,

I am on Vista 64 Ultimate and have noticed with the 3 versions of Uniserver I have tested, up to 5.3, that when choosing the option to uninstall the Apache service it always stays running and I have to stop the service manually. I don't know what kind of information you need but the MySQL service seems to stop just fine. It is always just the apache service.

Hi, I'm having a problem with Superfish I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be located, what is the solution so..not knowing where to pinpoint the problem I asked. someone told me that this is probably a server code issue, please read on. I did a stupid thing, I was looking for a way to reduce the number of SF modules on my Joomla 1.5 site by modifying my module tag to look like this: <jdoc:include type="modules" name="sf-menu" style="html"?php echo $pageclass ? $pageclass : 'default'; ?>" > That last part works well in template div tags but now I know its deadly if included in a module positon. When I looked into view source, it was blank. I've claw…

Preface: My sincere apologies if this question of mine has already been answered on the board. I've been browsing misc articles both here and on Apache's site but have been unable to find an answer. I've been attempting to setup multiple sites on Uniform Server. At first, I was unable to access the site on different PCs (turns out the Firewall was on, go figure) but now I can. Unfortunately, the "new" site I've enabled in httpd.conf (or through the aPanel interface) is directing me to the /www/ root. At first, I kept seeing the "Welcome to Uniform Server" index.php page when I typed in my new domain. Then, I deleted that file as well as the "images" and "css" folders …

  11. I've been having the following problem when I try to activate the uniform server. If I try to activate it, I receive the following error: Apache.exe application error The instruction at "0x00a8351c" referenced memory at "0x010c01a7". The memory could not be "read". The program used to work properly, but hasn't for quite some time. I am able to get around this a little bit by accessing the "alternative control" folder and clicking on "start_server.bat". Still even when I do this, I receive an error saying php5.dll cannot be found, although the server does seem to activate and I'm able to run programs on it. I am running this on windows xp sp2. Any advice on how to ge…

  12. In order to update virtual hosts, you need to reboot apache. After writing in a document root in /apanel/ containing a space apache won't start at all Works: E:\ftpuser\www Buggy: E:\ftp user\www Solution: You need to edit UniServer\usr\local\apache2\conf\httpd.conf and edit the virtual host. Open httpd.conf in a text document, scroll at the bottom, locate your virtual host. Sample: ##########VIRTUAL HOST SETUP########## # QUEST.ZNOTE.EU <VirtualHost *> ServerName quest.znote.eu DocumentRoot E:/quest www </VirtualHost> You can see the dir: DocumentRoot E:/quest www Add the " symbol in the start and end of the dir, like this: DocumentRoot "E:/q…

  13. Hey folks, I have an existing distributed application that I would like to upgrade to US. The problem is that users already have the software sitting in c:/program files/application which means I can't make new versions c:/application or I break backward compatibility and I don't even want to think about the implication for future patches. Is there a solution to the issue of installing US in a directory that has a space in its name? Thanks in advance.

I used Wamp for many years, and decided to move to Unifromserver. Mosty because there is not developement of WAMP any more. But, with Uniformserver i have a problem that i never had with WAMP. Apache is shutting down all the time. And it doesn´t matter if it is started as program or service. I have noticed that there is some 70-80% chance Apache will shutdown if i click at some Joomla "difficult" link, in front or admin panel. (it means "difficult" regarding that it is some old Joomla installation, and some extensions are not tweaked for PHP5.3.) I do understand that some Joomla installations need fixing for PHP 5.3, But it should not be so easy to shutdown Apache…

I can do PAC for "example.com" (no SSL) and I can do SSL for "localhost." Could somebody please give me a walk-through of how to setup SSL with a PAC file? I altready tried setting a PAC file entry, by changing the one for "http://example.com" into "https://example.com" but I get a "Cannot connect error." Generating a certificate for "example.com" doesn't seem to work either. I would appreciate a step by step walk-through, please.

  16. As you might know I represent a pretty huge community, and have made a rather huge tutorial on how to install it. I am also frequently updating my tutorial with the new versions because there might be security/performance/compatibility updates. However, recently I have received several feedbacks telling me that the apache on Carbo 6.0.3 keeps going off. And frustrated owners are afraid of having their website down for hours before they notice it and manually turning it on again). Many of my clients are having several thousand visits each day. So this might be a little critical. 1. Is there a way to make apache on Carbo automatically restart after a crash? 2. I…

  18. Greetings. I have a small problem, here is the situation: I have a game server installed, and uniform server installed. I look at Uniform Server as a way better candidate than XAMPP, since its light-weighted, and has all the necessary functions. I start mySQL and Apache on uniform server, it all seem to be working perfectly, I add the security steps (all without the PHP, that isn't necessary). I enter phpmyadmin, replace root user with my custom user. (To avoid root brute-forcing programs). I create another limited user which got full access to 1 database, and I import the gameservers database structures using import file. Everything works fine so far. …

  19. Started by Pickle,

Greetings. I had a working Apache2/PHP 5.3.0/MySQL setup on my desktop which I use for testing of websites I produce. Because PHP was aborting locally when handling running longer strings through preg_replace() when using a recursive pattern, but wasn't remotely on the production Linux box, I thought I'd try upgrading my local setup. After looking around for another WAMP, I decided to try Uniform Server, and am impressed with its features. However, I can't seem to get my virtual hosts to work again. They all showed up under Admin Virtual Host, but each one ends up being but an alias for the default site http://localhost/. I tried, then, adding an entry via Admin Vir…

Hi, I'm a newbie to servers and plan to use Uniserver to test web site pages locally. I got it installed and followed the instructions here: http://wiki.uniformserver.com/index.php/Ne...k_Install_Guide. The default index.php page loaded up OK. When I replaced the files in www with my own web site pages (leaving htaccess); at first the index page loaded up OK using http://localhost/. After restarting my computer later, the index.html page doesn't load automatically; however, if I type in the full address http://localhost/index.html, everything works. If I replace my web site pages with the default index.php page, it comes up with http:/localhost/. I tried other ind…

Hi, I am trying out the uniform server and can't figure out how to restart apache without having to stop and rerun the service. Currently everything is running as a service and when I make changes to php.ini or http.config - the changes have no effect. I tried what is says on this wiki page http://wiki.uniformserver.com/index.php/Ad...estart_Services by clicking on the Restart Apache service on the left side of the administration page and then clicking confirm and it still don't recognize any changes made to the php.ini or http.config files.
