Uniform Server - Windows

I downloaded the package yesterday, installed it but I can't reach my localhost, the redirect is continuosly running without getting further ... I use XP Home, SP2 I could really use some advice on this topic :-)

Hey all first of all i love uniserver, however it doesnt work for me this latest version v3.3... i use Server_Start.bat a cmd promt apears it says its started, it doesnt redirect to admin page... i tried to use localhost/a 127.0.0.1/a/ etc... apanel ... it wont start it seems. first of all i have no other server software or apache installation this is a fresh installed computer with windows XP sp2 etc... any ideas whats wrong? //Martin

If i'm installing a website under uniform server and the config files ask for the path to it what would that be? /website ??? /www/website ??? I'm having problems when trying to 'include' files etc and other problems where obviously the paths are incorrect... Can anyone help me?

I Don't know if this has been asked before and if It has I appologize I have just grabbed Uniformserver 3.3 and unzipped it to me Laptop. It runx XP prof with SP2 installed. When I click on the Server_Start.bat file is creates the W drive and the broswer starts but then the web page never start. I checked the My Computer and the Wdrive is gone. I've run the bat file from the command line and watched the My Computer window and it does create the W drive , but it then dissapears in about 5 seconds. It's very frustrating. Any advise??? Hey all, ok to tel ya, i got a game server running with ports forwarder 80/9014/7777/2106. So ppl can connect to my server from every where. I setted up the uniform server. Now when i enter my WAN ip from whatismyip.com i get my site or on localhost too. But when ppl type my WAN ip from thier house they get nothing. Like an error saying that the hosting server has some technical issues try again later. Hello to all. I had version 3.2 then installed version 3.3. I would like to uninstall version 3.3 and the mysql running as a service[c:\UniServerX.X\usr\local\mysql\bin\mysqld-opt.exe MySQL]. I don't know how I set it up as a service, but I want to start over fresh and not have it as a service. Just deleting the uniserverxx does not do the job I don't think. I think I tried that. I like the idesa of the server being so secure, but may need a little more handholding than the average guy so I may need to install another wamp or something with a little more printed documentation [instructions]. Hi guys, Actually i'm new at this server thing and this is my first attempt to setup one, i'm currently using the uniform server 3.3. Configured as a public server with dynamic DNS redirection. I am aware that My ISP has been blocking port 80 to prevent subscribers from (typically) running web servers on that port. When I contacted them as to why I was paying for a "castrated" internet connection, their lame reply was that they were trying to prevent viruses from "inadvertently" infecting subscribers' PCs that had "malicious software" that "might have installed a HTTP backdoor". I have copied the files in to the www/ directory and have loaded the tables. Now, whenever I go to any page it adds this: {head} {styles} {_BLOCK_.header.logo} {_BLOCK_.header.site_name} {secondary_links} {primary_links} {_BLOCK_.header.blocks} I also have Apache installed, but not MySQL or PHP. Can someone tell me what is wrong? Thanks. Oh, and also, I can't access the apanel. One more thing. I am using the UPXed version.

Does it work over the internet, what do i do kust leave it running at a main computer and connect accross the net? Your help is appricaited

This is probably an easy solution, but I have never learned anything about .bat files... Is it possible to add the mysqlrun.bat info in the start.bat file so that MySQL starts as well when I run start.bat? Right now I have both shortcuts in my start folder, but sometimes I think that mysqlrun.bat starts before start.bat is done. I thought that having them both start fom the same .bat might be a little more elegant... Ryan

OK, ive installed UniServ 3, and everything works locally, but when i try to access from outside it doesnt work. Im use a wireless router, with no firewall, please help me.

ive just extracted uniserver3.3 and now have opened the folder, then open "Server_Start.bat" then opens a window and gives me these 2 errors after the errors i get to the apanel i try to run "phpMyAdmin" and i get can anyone out there please help me out and get this uniserver running

Been trying to setup some software under uniform server... If i setup some software under www... called say "software" what would be the full path to that? From the webserver's point of view is it just /software? Having some problems getting a few things to work and was just wondering if it was to do with paths/include paths etc? Confused....

I am a big fan of uniform server but I am also a HD collector and the letter W is already taken. So I launched "Disk start.vbs" and choose the letter Z. Everything works well - creation of the disk Z: - launch of the panel - I can see furtively a http://....something..../redirect.html - then it stuck : my URL bar display : http://localhost/apanel/index.php and "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." if it is a problem which could be solved easily through the configuration files...

I have install the new version of uniform server. I have a question about how to use my ip to access it. When i use http://localhost/apanel/ it work but when i use my ip address it didnt give me the permission to enter it. Can some help. This is my first time on install the server. Thank You.

Ok I've heard of making VHosts offline, but is it possible to run a vhost online. Like it must be possible. The thing is that I have 1 static ip address. I have 2 different domains for 2 different sites that are hosted on my computer. I can add "A Reccords" on my domains which point to my ip address 142.217.17.58 I need it so that each domain points to a different directory within the www folder. I've tried to read various tutorials and none have helped. I need somebody to help me with this. Installation of your software is fine, but the problems keeps on arising when a dialog box keep on appearing saying "..dlls exception errors" "unable to.. dlls" something like that.. (cause I didnt paying attention to the dialog box) everytime I run your software.. When I click on the PhpmyAdmin.. the page gone! Any workaround or solutions? I'm having some problems running WP 2.0 with the Uniform Server. When I try to upload files using the inline uploader all the files are created properly....but when I delete files from the UI they are not removed from the file system. I think it's a permission issue as I don't have any problems on a Linux server or an OSX Apache install. Can anyone replicate this problem or give me any advice on how to fix it?

Hi Guys, Thought I'd try phpMyBackupPro in the 3.3 Admin panel yesterday having never played with it before. Following the link presents me with a phpMyBackupPro Login page, but I cant get past it... I presume this is trying to log into the MySQL admin user (root) - but when I try it I just get thrown back to the phpMyBackupPro Login page again. I have changed the root password for MySQL but access to phpMyAdmin and my "site" works fine with the new password so I'm not sure what's going on! Anyone else come across this or is it just me? Ok - I am stuck and hoping some here can help - IgniteFusion does not support dsn-less connection to MySQL. In order for DSN-less connection to MYSQL to work, myodbc or some sort of odbc driver has to be installed. How would I do this, put myodbc drivers or ?? as part of the apache server or? so I can call the driver like so: thanks, megan
