Uniform Server - Windows

How can I set up my uniform server as an http proxy server? I tried following directions from here: http://center.uniformserver.com/multi_serv..._rev_proxy.html I can connect to my uniform server from the internet. The proxy appears to be all set up, but when I change my browser to use my dyndns name as a proxy, it can't connect. I'm not sure where to go from here. My ultimate goal is to http tunnel through a firewall to my home computer, which will be a proxy server out to the internet.

Downloaded Uniform Server and is working fine as such. (Have no Skype running on my computer) Then wanted to upload an indexfile of my own in the directory w/... /www by copy and paste from my library of homepages i had programmed. I get an errormessage that the path i am referring to is not available on this computer. but be aware, i am seeing W drive in my explorer and just ant to paste the indexfile into it. In the directory C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Uniform Server\udrive\www i find the exact same files as ar in the w-drive. And there i can paste my indexfile into witout problem and it also shows when i ask for "local" in the IE. …

hi i am using a newsletter system on my uniserver and it is trying to send emails but it is reporting an error that it cannot send any emails. Do i have to configure somethign on the server to enable sending of emails? thanks

i have a problem, when i try to download .msi files or .wpl files from my uniformserver 3.5, they gets opened in the browser instead as tekst files, isthere a way to get them to download instead of being opened as tekst files? ps. sorry if this is the wrong topic.

Hi, Thanks for this great piece of work! This may be a dumb question as I cannot find it on the Forum. After I 'installed' US on my desktop and start it using any of the options, I get to the blue page with the US logo in the middle, and get redirected to a http://localhost/apanel. There I get a 404 error. When I browse to just http://localhost, I get 'It works!'. I am running this from the virtual W drive. I have no Skype. I have also checked if there are any other programs listening on 80, and there are none. Also, does this server support mod_perl applications? I have just finished developing my application and wabt to move to a live state. I have a web domain and a server (windows pc) that I acces over the net. The application is in a folder located in www. At present I access http://'IP address'/'folder name'/ . I notice www on the udrive has a file index.php which I also have in my application. Is it safe to delete this file? I . would then replace the Ip address with my domain name so it would be http://www.'domain name'/'index.php' I realise there are other steps to running a production environment also. Is there a tutorial available? thank you

I'm having an issue with my Uniform Server, pretty much straight out of the box http://localhost/ works but http://machine_name/ dose not http://ip/ also does not the error is "You are not authorized to view this page", any idea how I could fix this? Thanks

Hi All, I would like to use a login script or a .HTACCES File for logging in users but not sure if this is going to be a easy or not? Basically I would like a user to login and then be redirect to there own page which I have created for them. Hi, First I wanna say that it's really a masterwork and I've been using uniserver for quite a long time. Now, I have a question: Is it possible to start the server with the help of the batch file without having an extra drive letter? I know it should be possible, but could anyone please tell me how? so much learning to get... What is the best way to turn off register globals? I see at the PHP site that one can put a flag or entry in .htaccess stating "php_flag register_globals off". or should I do this in php.ini. I'm using the php.ini included in UniS3.2a. or should I do both? or something completely different...? I have installed US (current version) on a Windows XP SP2 machine. When I run the Server_Start batch file, I first get a message saying that the server is working, then an error message that it can't find the redirect.html file. I have confirmed that the W drive has been set up and the path is correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA Sue

Hi gang, I've got my production server running Uniformserver, and it's working a treat - it's even sorted out a few long-standing issues I'd had with my cobbled-together setup of al of the products! I'm running US on Vista Home Premium and unfortunately, Vista's networking is a little flakey at times and occasionally I need to reboot the server several times in a row to get it to see the network again. Unfortunately, as US is not installed as a service (and I'd rather it wasn't for now) I cannot get it to start whenever the machine starts up. I have mentioned the incompatibility between MySQL 4 and 5 this shows you how to downgrade UniServer 3.3 from MySQL 5 to MySQL 4. The process is relatively simple. 1) You need to work on clean copies of UniServer 3.2a and 3.3 download these and save both files into the same folder. 2) Unzip both files (no need to specify a folder) into the current folder. 3) Within UniServer3_3 rename database folder mysql we need this later. Hi I was totally freaking out how to set-up WORDPRESS to uniserver? May i know how can i get the following... 1. Database name 2. Mysql username and password 1,2 are the requirement of wordpress to be installed.
