Hi Starlight

This is something I would do just to make sure everything is working from the Uniform Server point of view.

Inside the w:\www folder create a new folder called 'test'. Now try browse to that using your dydns domain.

Let me know your results.

EDIT: It seems as though your Livebox router accepts public port 80 access. Some routers have a webserver which has public port 80 access. I think this is the problem. Try changing this port to 81 so your Uniform Server can listen on Port 80 and not your Router.

Hi Kalpz,

I think your right that the livebox has taken over port 80, creating a folder text an putting an index file in it just displays 404.

Another sign is that the dydns address immediately requires password - which is the livebox passwords not any passwords i have created for my localserver or anything.

so i need to try to change port of livebox - any help for this also appreciated.

Thanks

Starlight

Try this go to:

http://www.whatismyip.org/

Pick up your IP address xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx

Now go to:

http://www.google.com/translate_t?langpair=fr|en

At the bottom of the page type in a test page as suggested by Kalpz:

http://xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx/test.html

The above guarantees external access is your page translated.

Or do you get this:

The requested URL / test.html was not found on this server.

The problem I have is no router will grab port 80 it just listens. The livebox may be an exception trying to make things easy for a user! :)

Not knowing what this box is try the following link:

http://portforward.com/english/routers/por...ebox/Apache.htm

I apologise for the intrusion

All the best

Ric :)

Hi Ric

Any external access goes to his LiveBox router's Webserver, which runs on Port 80. I don't think any configuration changes to US will help.. UNLESS you change US's listening port number. Though I never liked that because sometimes it would display the port number in the address bar..

Do you want to PM either me or Ric the address so we can have a look inside the LiveBox and find out how to change it's port number?
