Use stop.bat Got this the first time I tried running Uniform Server. I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2 with 2 gb of ram and the processor is AMD 64 X2 4400. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Installed 3.2a on an XP machine. Script says it installed, but then 'w' doesn't continue to exist. (See mssg windows returns on what should be the W drive, in attached.) So obviously the references to the server in browser fail.... I don't use skype, and I didn't zip up (the whole empty folders thing) so ??? I do use a standard installation of IIS, though don't know why that would matter. Any help appreciated.

I have only been able to access localhost/apanel 1 time out of 4 trys. The one time that it worked was like this: 1. Reboot 2. Stop iis server 3. Run UniController.exe 4. Start with default drive w 5. localhost/apanel loads in browser I have tried this 3 other times with both iis originally running and not originally running. (In the latter case step 2 not used). Using UniController.exe to stop then start doesn't help. What's even worse, now after rebooting with iis server started I can not browse my files in the iis C:\Inetpub\wwwroot I'm running Win XP Pro SP2

I know this has come up many times but I am stumped big time this time. Trying to help a friend with his virtual host. http.conf file NameVirtualHost * <VirtualHost *> ServerName ez-pc.co.nz DocumentRoot /www/ezpc/ </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *> ServerName buffalostats.hopto.org DocumentRoot /www/buffalostats/ </VirtualHost> Second host is a no-ip address. Can anyone see the problem? It always shows /www/ezpc/ website even when a user browses to buffalostats.hopto.org.

Hello guys, I found US a few days ago, and immediately downloaded it. Since then I have been working non stop on my website on the move from a USB device. I never properly remove USB drives, and thus simply pull it out. I have never had a problem before. I obviously wont be doing that again Anyway basically I was on vista, and localhost stopped loading so I pulled it out, put it back in, tried various computers... no success loading US. It says cannot find drive etc. I put it back into vista pc, and it came up saying this USB drive was not removed properly, I clicked repair.. now US server still wont start, and when I click udrive it doesnt realise it is a folder…

Ok, so, i ran the mini-server to test it out. Pretty good. Completely forgetting about the stop server batch file, i open the task manager and kill the apache process (i know, noob mistake, but at 4 in the morning, I don't care). Now i am left with a virtual drive that i have no clue how to get rid of. I have looked at the stop server batch file, but i cannot figure out the syntax for removing a drive. Please help!

After publishing the mini-server I decided to update the combined bug fix downloadable from the Wiki. New page added Apanel not displayed Problem: In certain situations Apanel is requested before Apache is running resulting in browser error message "Failed to connect" Solution: Before requesting the Apanel page wait for Apache to start using a delay loop Combined bug fix file now updated to Uc_bug_fix_7.exe I always recommend applying the fix to a fresh install of Uniform Server; however having a full installation of Xoops around ran it on that with no adverse effects. I do recommend you first try the fix on a copy of your server. All the best Ric

Hi, First FANTASTIC JOB! This is the first time I have been able to get something like this to work for me. I really like the latest version. Any chance of setting up the latest version with the not so latest php patch. I am having all sorts of problems doing this downgrade (could not find it on the forum if available). This could be a good thing for the download library (for those of us who are inept ) Thanks!

Hi Guys, I have an urgent security question to ask, I am running Uniform Server 3.3 I have 5 websites setup using Virtual Host. And 2 users in House have access directly into the WWW folder as they are updating the websites all the time. Today 2 off my websites had been deleted completely out of the WWW Root Apart from one folder - the administrator folder in one of our Joomla websites Now my first thoughts are that someone in house has be doing something they shouldn’t but is it possible that someone has hacked into my server to cause this? Is there anyway that I can perform a security test online to see if I’m at risk? Any help on this would be great…

Hi Guys, Ok I am using Uniform Server 3.3 and I’m running Joomla! 1.0.15 as this version allows me to redirect a logged in user to their own private page inside a sub directory Now at the moment I have placed a .htaccess file inside the folder for extra security but this is obviously making the user login twice to get to their desired page. Is there any way that I can add another type of .htaccess file that allows them to login but, protects their page should someone stubble across their url accidental I hope I make a bit of senses here any pointers would be great Danny

I'm having an issue installing Uniform Server as a service. My website runs fine before I execute start.bat. After I finish start.bat and run install, apanel opens correctly but when I try to open my webpage I get nothing but a blank page. I used the updated w2c1.pl file to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I examined the apache error log and found the following messages: resuming normal operations [sat Sep 20 10:53:18 2008] [notice] Server built: Jul 27 2006 15:55:03 [sat Sep 20 10:53:18 2008] [notice] Parent: Created child process 1748 [sat Sep 20 10:53:18 2008] [notice] Child 1748: Child process is running [sat Sep 20 10:53:18 2008] [notice] Child 1748: Acqui…

Uniform Server 3.5-Aollo is a very robust piece of kit however with the passage of time several bugs and issues have come to light. I have located these in one place with proposed solutions. What’s covered: 1) Server_Start.bat For disk_start.vbs to work correctly batch variable %2 must be reinstated. The third parameter %3 (Console) seems to be redundant no idea what it’s original purpose was. When run it just leaves the command prompt open, which is of little use. Proposal let this open a command prompt accessing the MySQL bin folder will allow command line control of the MySQL server using mysql.exe and mysqladmin.exe. 2) disk_start.vbs This is a beta script…

Hello! I'm having a problem with my site address. When I type the site in with the "WWW" in the address (ex. www.sitename.com) it sends me to the default uniform server page (purple backround) but as when I don't (ex. sitename.com) it takes me to the site correct site. My server is hosting 6 sperapate pages using virtual hosting. When I created the virtual host I did NOT put the "www" in the address. I added it and still had the problem though (and the site wouldnt come up at all). What am I doing wrong?

Hi. I'm a brand new user to this sort of stuff, sorry if this is a common problem/bug. Searched forum and wiki, couldn't find anything related to this. Basically, went to 'stop' the server, and the drive letters were left there. Cannot restart the server without choosing a new drive letter. If I try to start the server with the same drive letter, I get the 'drive busy' error. Any suggestions? Thanks.
