  1. Started by Zian,

I tried telling Uniserver to start when Windows boots but I'm having trouble finding the services in services.msc. What are they supposed to be called? And, if the services aren't being created, then what can I try?

I have Windows 8.1 Pro x64 installed, and am trying to run the newest version, which at the time of this writing is 11.4.1 ZeroXI. As I have ZoneAlarm installed, it does prompt me that I have ZoneAlarm Installed. However, after that, the mysql password popup appears and then disappears in less than half a second. There's no main controller window or taskbar icon. At first, I thought it crashed, but when I tried to run the controller again, the new one said that the old one is still running, which is true when I opened task manager. I tried connecting to localhost, but it's not connecting. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Thanks

I've just read up on the latest SSL attack: https://threatpost.com/new-poodle-ssl-3-0-attack-exploits-protocol-fallback-issue/108844 The patches I've seen so far are for Apache on Linux or IIS on Windows. Does anyone know how to apply the fix to Uniserver Zero i.e. Apache on Windows?

  4. Hi guys, I'm back. Mom was sick for 2 years. She's better now. I tried to load my Uniserver Orion thumb drive site on my new OS. Win 8.1 and found that with Orion the Unitray loaded to the tasckbar tray but recieved notification that port 80 was occupied by System process and the PID 4. Even though I can access all the html and images individualy I can't access the php apanel and typing http localhost into IE11 browser generates Microsoft IIS.html. MyAdmin and all php databases are unaccessable. No I can't shut off UAC in win 8.1. Which after 2 days of investigation seemed to be the better way to go but to no avail. I'm using FireFox now and still can't paste the images o…

  5. Well I got the start exe file in my thumb drive E of UniServer folder allowed. It sure beat binding it to IIS which Microsoft claims will allow you to enter Localhost/boundelement in the browser will generate the uniserver pages and php. However, I have set the TCP port and UDP port to 1177 and need to know what page configuration adjustments I need to make on the MySQL and apache servers as they are set on the unbound ports used by other programs. The version is 7.1.5-Orion and I'm sure there was an archive indicating how to get the ports changed to match 1177 in the config files of bouth apache and MySQL. Anybody got a ref or can I just find it in the Orion uniserver ht…

  6. I've checked the docs and tried all that I could think of, but I cannot for the life of me get CRON / db Backup to work in any of the Zero XI versions. Was no problem in any of the Coral ones. The CRON ini for db_backup that ships with Zero XI has this for a path: "path = C:\UniServerZ\home\us_cron\test\db_backup\Run_db_backup.bat" However, there is no "Run_db_backup.bat" nor the VBS file it refers to in the Zero XI package. What am I missing? Cheers! Lyle

I installed a new pc and copied to full Uniserver folder from the old pc onto the new one. The only difference is that on the old pc the folder "Uniserver" was placed on D:/, on the new pc it is place on E:/. But the servers (Apache and MySQL) do no start anymore. Not as a program, not as a service. The only message is: Unable to start ... Server. See image. Regards Ben. PS: the "Unable to start..." windows keeps popping up. Have to restart pc.

  8. Hi, I'd like to carry Uniform Server with me on a USB stick where the www-folder is not inside the program-folder. My wwww-folder is two levels above the program folder. So, because I can't give Uniform Server a relative path in the GUI: Apache --> Change www folder, I'd like to change it manually. Is there a parameter for the .exe to change the www-folder relatively or a file where I can put this relative path in? I don't have any trouble with this, only in Uniform Server. Thank you. Cheers

I have two domains. The first in the root www as files, the second in a folder in root www I can access the first but not the second which is only available through local host. I configured virtual host using the apache menu in Coral 6.8 and set up a virtual host for the second domain. The vitual host is enabled and the ht access for outside is enabled. In the second domain log I get this 109.152.69.150 - - [28/Apr/2014:17:26:24 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 403 202 and a message You do not have permission to access on this server Any suggestions as to where to look appreciated.

Thanks Ric for the detailed explanation in the other topic. I tested it locally and works like a charm. Would the same apply for using SSL? I have Coral 8.6.8 running in a production setting using SSL (with the cert from a CA - GoDaddy). Yes I know it's "out of date", but it just keeps chugging along with no issues Of course, this version has the OpenSSL vulnerability and I am looking into how I can fix this in the most efficient manner. I am not an SSL "expert" as this is my one and only install using it. Using the steps in your previous explanation, would it "work" if I just moved the files from the Coral 8.6.8 SSL folder to the SSL folder in Zero 11.1.3 (alon…

  14. Hello everyone, I'm here to report this error: I've tracked the problem down, and it's caused by extra underscore characters in the database names. So this script doesn't support db names such as "my_fancy_db". I've fixed the lines that were making the problem: temp_array = split(objFile.Name,"_") 'Get time stamp If Cdbl(temp_array(1)) < Cdbl(ref_tim) Then 'Is this smaller than our reference (ref_tim) ref_tim = temp_array(1) To: temp_array = split(objFile.Name,"_") 'Get time stamp time_stamp = temp_array(UBound(temp_array) - 1) 'Now get the time stamp for real If Cdbl(time_stamp) < Cdbl(ref_tim) Then 'Is this smaller than our reference…

Hi, neat little wamp server you've put together here! I just have a question regarding cron. Is there is a way to run a script between a specific time period? Every hour between 0600 - 1800 for example. I currently use windows task scheduler to do this but would like to pass the job over to cron in Uniserver if possible! Also, my cron jobs seem to go out of sync. If I happen to restart the server, the job then runs straight away after a restart, and not on the specific time interval since the start time I specified. E.g I specify a start time of 2014-3-11 10:00:00 with a period to run hourly. I then restart the server today at 1342. The job will then run every hour fr…

If I close the Uniform Server main control panel, and then try to load it again, it won't load. I need to log out or restart my machine to be able to load the control panel. Repro steps: - I load Uniform Server (Coral 8.6.4) using Start_as_program.exe - Main control panel loads. I can turn on Apache and MySQL, use my server, all is good - When I'm done with the server I turn off the two services and close the control panel - If try to run Start_as_program.exe again, nothing happens. Panel does not load. - If I log out and back in, or restart my machine, I am able to load the main panel and all is good again. This is happening to me consistently, not a one-off thing. …

  18. Started by gdhp,

I had been using Uniform Server's most recent release to run a few Drupal sites, and have generally found the package to be brilliant (so well done.) However I recently needed to build one using a lower package, 81, so that I could use Apache 2.2 (related to mod_auth_sspi issues.) Ever since then I have been getting extreme bugs when using Drupal sites on it. Officially it still comfortably meets the specs of Drupal 7, but there seems to be a problem trying to enable any Drupal modules. Anyone have any specific ideas what could be causing the problems?

  19. Hi all. I have Uniserver 8.9 installed on my Windows 7 box. It works great but I want to see what the fuss is about with Wordpress. Now when I look at the Wordpress install notes they say... "Once Web PI is installed, neither XAMPP nor any other web server will be able to use localhost to host a web site locally on your machine." This sounds as if installing wordpress will stop me from using uniserver as I currently do. Bearing in mind that I'm a total amateur, can anyone advise me if it can be compatable and if so how to install without damaging the current folders I have? Thanks. Mike.

  21. Using UniServer Zero XI 11.0.5/UniController X1 V1.0.5 on Win7. I create a new vhost, eg: demo.com When I go to demo.com I am taken to the local directory. This is correct. But when I try www.demo.com I am taken to the actual online website of demo.com. The hosts file is being updated with: 127.0.0.1 demo.com The proxy.pac file is being updated with: if (shExpMatch(host, "*demo.com")) return "PROXY 127.0.0.1:80"; Shouldn't the wildcard asterisk allow me to type anything before demo.com (www.demo.com, subdomain.demo.com, etc.) and be taken to the local directory? I have also tried this with .org and .co.nz suffixes. Same result. I have rebooted the server after…

  23. Using UniServer Zero XI 1.0.3 on Win7. When I create a new virtual host using the controller, I have to manually add a directive to my Windows hosts file. If I don't, my browser will not find the new virtual host. I've checked and the httpd-vhosts.conf and PAC files are being updated just fine. But not the Windows hosts file. Yes, I've restarted the server. [Coral 8.9.2 creates the hosts entry just fine.] Should I have to manually add the directive?

  25. I want to start Apache and MySQL automatically when I launch uniserver without having to click on Start Apache and Start MySQL. Is this possible? According to past forum posts, there used to be batch files that could this, but I couldn't find any in the latest version. Also, I can't get uniserver to start automatically with apache and mysql at computer startup, despite configuring it to do so. But I would still much rather launch it myself using a batch script and have apache and mysql start on application launch. Thank you, Alex
