Hello, Is there a way to upgrade my current version (5.6a) to the latest version? I looked through all documentation (except Wiki, trying there next), and I searched the forums but found nothing. The closest thing if found was instructions on how to move the server from on directory to another. I'm currently running to Sites on 5.6a, both using php/perl/mysql/mssql server express. Therefore, i would love to upgrade vs. having to install new version in different directory, then reconfiguring my settings, then moving the sites over. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Seems Tray Controler (or whatever it is named is sort of useless on my setup (Windows 7, 64 bit). It starts, shows up in tray and in general works, but it can't start/install any service. I tried running it as Admin or with XP compatibility set but no difference spotted. So for now, I have to manually lurk into i.e. <path>\usr\local\mysql\bin and start mysqld-opt.exe (same for Apache: <path>\usr\local\apache2\bin\Apache.exe) and it seems to work, but that annoying. Nothing was in i.e. apache logs, but it definitely because no apache/mysql was even started (as on 1st start windows' firewall would pop up and that did not happened unless I fired them up by hand)…

I have been looking at a lot of portable servers. Server2go and Litepxp. Both of these allow you to change the startup icons to be one for your program. If I decide to use this server, can the icons be changed to one of my liking? Is there a way to get around the firewall message? I know that you do not see it in the other 2 above mentioned servers? Is there a way to create a autorun file for a usb stick? I don't want my users to have to start and stop the server. Can the server be stopped automatically when the browser is closed?

Hello! Recently I want to distribute a PHP/MySQL application along with UniServer to client's computer running Win7. How can I achieve the following: 1. Run PHP/MySQL/Apache on Windows startup. 2. Do not show "Press key to continue..." - just automatically close console window after server started. 3. Open Google Chrome browser (which could not be default browser) at system startup and redirect immediately to my application instead opening APanel. 4. Do not show UniServer splash screen before redirect at startup. Thank you in advance!

Hi, I was running Orion 7.0.2 without any issues. I then upgraded to 7.0.3. When starting UniServer on Windows 7, Iinternet Explorer v9 gave me the following error: "HTTP 403 Forbidden. The website declined to show this webpage" I found the only solution was to go into C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and uncomment the line "127.0.0.1 localhost." Any idea why I needed to make this change? I would prefer Win7 to resolve localhost itself. Is there anything I can do that would allow me to put the host file back the way it was? Any help gratefully received. Thanks in advance, Peter Adie

Hi people, I've been using UniServer since it was called UniformServer with no issues at all until now. Recently, I was using version 5.6.5 Nano but I decided to update, went to Orion 7.0.0 and used it on a pen drive, and later I downloaded version Orion 7.0.8. I have two computers where I use UniServer to develop my PHP-MySQL driven Websites. One computer has Windows 7 Enterprise installed and the other one has Windows XP Home Edition, and the pen drive is formated as FAT32. This is important, I think, as you'll see when I explain what happened. I ran Orion 7.0.0 on my FAT32 512MB pen drive which is connected to my Windows 7 Enterprise with no problems. I clicked…

I want to upgrade from Apollo 3.2 to R7 principally to get php upgraded. I have loaded the download and turned off the Appollo uniserver, but when I hit the start exe I get the message Unitray created , but it is not showing. Nothing in the logs so I guess the servers never started. How should I go about sorting this please.

Hi all, Just installed Orion 7.07 (on Win XP SP3 if that makes a difference). I need to have it run the virtual drive on a letter other than W:, because W: is already in use for a network drive. I'm not able to find anything in the Orion version-specific documentation that refers to changing the drive letter. The installation guides on the wiki all seem to be for previous versions, which either prompt you for a drive letter upon startup (this doesn't happen for me in Orion), or come with a file called Disk Start.vbs (which I can't find in the Orion files). Thanks.

Hi Everyone, I am hoping that is an easy solution and that I have just not been looking in the right places. I have setup Uniserver once before and everything worked great but this time I am pulling my hair out which is not a good idea for a guy with not much to begin with. at any rate My websites display perfectly on localhost, but I lose the header and other formatting on the remote browser. also it will only show the IP address. If I type in the domain name the site will come up but the domain name does not show. I have been over windows host file, the virtual host file and everything else i can think of so I must now ask for your learned council on the subj…

Hi, I'm running Windows 7 64bit. I'm trying to use Orion 7.0.2. I click start.exe, I get a message about the trayicon. I click OK and there is a tray icon with a 1 in it. When I hover the mouse over the icon, the icon disappears and I don't have uniserver running. Any ideas? Thanks

So, I've changed the port Apache uses to port 500 because 80 was full of system and some IIS that kept coming back every time I killed it. Whenever I run that pre-run check it says ports are free, and when I try to start Apache, a command prompt flashes up and then closes faster than I can read what's on screen. My current guess is that port 500 isn't actually a free port or something or the port doesn't exist, I haven't checked that yet though. When I run server status, it tells me MySQL is running fine, but that Apache isn't running and both its SSL and normal ports are free.

FYI if this is happening to anyone else... I downloaded Orion 7.0.1 last night, from http://sourceforge.net/projects/miniserver..._1.exe/download Running on Windows2003r2 Everything seemed to work well, but when enabling php_ldap.dll module, Apache would always fail to start, complaining it was missing libsasl.dll I got the file from the PHP 5.3.6 VC9ts distribution http://windows.php.net/download/, and dropped it in the apache main folder. It now seems to work well.
