Uniform server is great! I've been looking for a portable WAMP for quite some time. It's not perfect. but It's working great. Here are some packages I've successfully installed and ran. CMS Made Simple (looks fully functional) MediaWiki (looks fully functional) VTiger CRM (working, but complaining about MySQL 5 and PEAR). Althoght I have tried the addon mysql downgrade (seems to make Uniform stop working) and I thought PEAR was installed already. I wanted to install coppermine but that would require imagemagik or GD. Maybe in another version. Thanks to the developers in doing a great job!

I am learning to use PHP, mySQL, Apache and the other things pre-bundled with Uniform Server, and am going to install it tonight. I am most excited to find a pre-configured application that has everything I need in it! I gave up trying to get all of it configured on my Fedora Core box, so decided to try Windows instead. Hopes are that this will get me off the ground and running my own web server from home. The ultimate idea is to create an html Blackberry site with php access to my database. (Cool, huh?) Crossing the fingers on that one (not sure if BB browser handles PHP yet, will look and see), but anyway, will keep you posted on how well a real noob does with Uniform S…

I am not a programer, I am an advanced user. I am looking to build a server that will do the following: 1) File Server for all the computers on my home network 2) File server for my Digital media streamer device 3) Host my home page. 4) FTP site so I can access my file from the web. Does Uniform server fill these needs? Thank you. Pierre

Thanks for the server. Due to the size of your server and the ability to run on windows without the need for installation I have been able to place your server on a cdrom with my PhP/MySql websites and demonstrate to a person that i'm disigning a site for how the site works, on there own computer. The way I do this is by creating a autorun file on the cd that starts the web server and then the mysql server. It then redirects to a page that explains how to use the site and what to do to shut the servers down, they then click the continue button and it goes to the demo site on the site is a linked button that when clicked stops both servers and brings up a page for co…

I have downloaded from sever sourceforge mirrors and have not gotten the version of uniformserver that is show in those nice screenshots at the front door. Also the version number in the sourceforge downloads is 3.2 but the content version number is 3.1.1. The project status shows 90% of 3.3 as being done so i assume there actually is a 3.2 version. The question is where is it?

Currently i am working hard to get about $50-100 to sponsor a competiton. The competion will have differnet categories so that there is no cheating and also for fairness and it will have to do with the server. Here is what i have so far: Submit your: Mod Version Of Admin Panel User-Made Plugin Mod Version Of The Uniform Server Or launch a "Spread the Word" campaign. For the spread the word campaign, each user will get a tracker code so we can track who referred who and how many people are referred. I do not like to collect money from people, especially on the internet so there might be no donating or if you do want to, you may have to send the money to the winner …

VOTE OR DIE Plugins will be packed into 2 available packages. The first one will be a .zip which is a must and no question, and the other one is what you are voting on. Using the 7-Zip SFX, WinRAR SFX, and .7z means that you will have to install everything manually. Using the NSIS Installer on the other hand, allows us to make an automatic installer that will install the plugin for you automatically, though their might be some things you have to do manually, like for example: the java servlets plugin needs an Environmental Variable defined, you have to do that yourself. There are other ways but these are the best methods i know off right now. Please make a vote a…

Thanks for the Uniform Server. Here is a post I made on the moodle site, http://moodle.org , after realising the potential to turn ordinary computers to powerful learning tools using the open source 'moodle' on Uniform Server: "I tried a slightly different approach using 'Uniform Server 3.2' on a USB Flash Drive. With 'moodle 1.5 dev' (removed files for langauges other than English), the whole setup takes less than 40MB and can be accessed from intranet or internet with the following config file... All these days I was using the PHPDev www.firepages.com.au because of its size 5MB, But I am not very pleased with it since the development of the software is stopped. I am glad that I found the Uniform Server, Size of course and the PHP 5 and 4 as a plug-in is a good reason for me to choosing it. One suggestion, when I go to the home page of US http://miniserver.sourceforge.net/ I can see under the NEWS "28.07.2004 - The Uniform Server 3.2 released" this is the latest news, I wish if someone keep the news part updated and active, this will definitely give more live to the site and product Thank you,
