I am very excited by what I learned about The Uniform Server and hope it will help me set up my first website using Joomla. However I have made several attempts to get it working and failed. Part of my problem is I feel I do not understand all the instructions. It is only the past few months that I've started to learn what to do to set up a website and I know very little if anything about programming, etc. Being 75 I may also be a little slow at these new concepts. Maybe if we had a writer from Computers for Dummies rewrite the instructions it might help me. Just a thank you to the Uniform Server Team for V5.0 Nano Beta. I'm running Windows XP sp3 on a 10Gb laptop 900mhz processor with only 256Mb ram. I LIKE THE FOOTPRINT SIZE!!!! I've downloaded and installed 5.0 AND configured/copied my entire site development configuration in under 10 minutes! Compared to two days when I moved from V3.5 to 4.3. The MySQL data worked without modification moving from 4.3 Mona to 5.0 Beta, so this was a major time saver. This is my first post - I hope it has not been covered elsewhere. I searched for the above topic title but the system did not return any results. I am setting up a new web server on a 64-bit Windows 2008 standard server running a single Nehalem processor (4-core 2.93 GHz, 6GB RAM, 4-drive RAID-10 (300GB 15k drives)). The board has room for another processor and more RAM, but that will have to be reserved for a future upgrade. With hyper-threading enabled on this processor, it shows up as eight processors in task manager. I have created two tables 1. state having fields state_id and state_name 2. city having fields city_id, state_id and city_name city id and state id is primary keys.... Well we do listen; an upgraded version is now in beta, I must stress this is not Version 4 but has been provisionally named 3.6-Apollo2. Hello everyone, I am new to Uniform Server and to PHP/mySQL generally. I want to setup an e-shop for my store and currently I am doing tests on my laptop. Up to now I installed Apache 2.2, PHP 5.2.6 and mySQL 5.0.51 as separate packages (not using something like Uniform Server) because I was told that in my live environment I will have to install and configure each component separately in order to achieve maximum security. I've just discovered US, and haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet, so this may be a dumb question: How to you set US up so that it runs as a service (on Windows Server 2003), and starts automatically when the server boots up? (Nevermind - I just found the run.bat batch file that installs the services) Very Nice!!! :-)

Help! I have followed all the instructions on setup page and when I start server a blue screen with Uniform server on it flashes on screen then off diverting to apanel but there is no apanel the browser window is there but its empty, I have also put a html index page in www folder and tried to view that ? address is there but window is empty. There is no windows compatible servers that I can find that have support for Postgres and PhpPgAdmin. I love the ease of use of Uniform Server, and think this would be a great addition.

Hi guys, I am using Vcalendar on uniform server 3.3 When logged into Vcalendar sometimes throughout the day we get logged out and have to log back in again Could anyone tell me which part of the php.ini file needs changing to stop this? Many Thanks for you time Danny

I just tried to install Uniform Server and can not get it to work. When I type in http://localhost/a/ for the URL I get "Unable to Connect". There is a local drive W, but it has question mark over the icon when looking at it in Windows Explorer. When I tried to run Server_Start.bat, I get "The disk W is busy. Use the start.bat [disk letter]" I do not have a start.bat in the Uniform Server folder. Can someone help me out? Give me a suggestion as what to do next? Thank you, bookpage

Hi all, This is my first post on the forums! Hope to have fun with UniServer! And the point about 10 letters: The sentence "Enter the first 10 letters of the alphabet backwards" is confusing actually. Shouldn't it be replaced by "Enter the first 10 alphabets in reversible order" or use the term backwards in it. I'm sorry for being away too long and not having time to reply to everyone's post and threads on the forum, and not being here to give you updates on the server development. Lately, life has had me on a short leash and I bearly have time to do the things i used to do. I opened this thread because i want to know what you 'the users/community' want in the next and upcoming version of the server. The next version, Version 4.0 is going to be a big bang! Since you guys are working on Uniform Server 4.0 maybe you can use this opprotunity to clean up the code and organize everything to make US as easy and painless to use. When I was reading the blog I clicked on a link to one of the forks. (Mov'AMP) One thing I liked about thier way of doing things, was everything was really clean and simple to use. With US 4.0 coming out maybe you can rearrange where everything is so it is nice and need in a clean hierarchy style. One thing you may also be able to use as a template for future versions is thier server start, they have one exe that starts everything and puts a little icon in the taskbar. A downgrade to SQL 4 would be nice considering that most hosting companies are still using mysql verisons in the 4's. Unifrom Verison 3.5 has problems When installed on windows XP , changing all the passwords as requested, checking all the .htpsswds to make sure everything saved correctly and then trying to start PHPadmin generates this error. Have been investigating alternative method to query a sqlite3 database using tclsh84 ... Initially, I have installed on my PC(s) - tcl/tk(8.4.12.0). Also, have installed the tclsqlite3 dll. I have multiple (simple) sqlite3 databases which I maintain on my PC(s) and one on the USB stick. The premise was not to rewrite code in PHP (not a PHP guru) and to utilize and modify existing tcl code to query several simple sqlite3 databases...
