  1. Iif it is a real TLD with 'A' info, then it does.. you have to set it right though... never actually set up a domain to a local server but search the forum for a post that was made here.. Think we got it to work...
  2. Because localhost is not real? Its not a real host.
  3. k, if you are using Windows XP, then it should definately work on your PC unless you have a program blocking port 80 or a firewall. Do you have single installations of PHP, MySQL, or Apache? or have you ever installed them seprately before using their EXE installers? Does Server_Start.bat give you an error?
  4. What version of Windows are you using? That is happening because the server is not started and so it keeps looping till it starts, but it isn't..
  5. a. Don't worry about the scrolling problem, it will be removed in next version and replaced with someething better... b. Difficult to start server? All you have to do is use Server_Start.bat or Disk Start.vbs...? If you are trying to start MySQL with the server, use Disk Start.vbs
  6. Thats right, i forgot IIS is called PWS on Win98 so didn't mention it called Win98 does not have IIS

  8. Try downloading the normal version.. not the UPX version and test it with it... Also, do you have Skype or anything that blocks Port 80? Since you are not getting any Windows Error (like the "Out Of Environmental Space" error), probablility is that it will work on yours but something is blocking it... Also, is there a W:/ drive created? (or do you have a W drive already?)

  10. For the editor on the GO, i use Programmer's Notepad and it works great for me. Just extract and put in your USB Stick... There site: http://www.pnotepad.org/ For the class to edit the httpd.conf file, don't have one but if you do find one, please let us know... could use something like that for the Uniform Server if it is simple and easy to use + secure... Try searching SourceForge or Google for that.. i'm too lazy to do it for you now..
  11. hmm.. about the /apanel problem, that will also be changed.. as you can see it is an alias and a redirection for /a About the "Out of environmental space".. problem, we might have to write a new start and stop system.... but we are still looking into it to see if it can be fixed.
  12. I would help you out and make you a downgraded custom version, but i am too busy... please submit the MySQL 4 Downgrade Plugin to our SourceForge Feature Request System so we can remember... Thanks
  13. umm... thats not a bug. Uniform Server 3.2a uses MySQL 4 and 3.3 has MySQL 5 so you might havee to change a few things in your class/update it because of that.... The slow problem Pont has is because he had the UPXed version which has to decompress the exe and dll files first before use, but i still dont get the problem with the /apanel/ and how /a/ worked when it has been deleted? Might be another installation? Pont, do you use /apanel/ now or you are still using /a/? Problems we have to fix for the next version: 1. Scroller 2. phpMyAdmin Language(s) Clash 3. "Out of environment space" error on Win98
  14. Thanks, will get to work on the problems for 3.4. Had to rush release this one and everything was in a hurry cause i had to UPX every dll and exe in the package. This is a messy release... and even after that i didn't get much sleep after going to bed at 6:00AM in the morning... had to wake up 4hrs later sucks....

  16. No problem
  17. I know about Chilisoft... wonder how they do it....
  18. We get some sleep here in GA
  19. Thats what i am guessing also... either that or he has another server running... IIS or another Apache... and he is working on that one and not Uniform Server itself...
  20. Changing the port can also help... You can change the Uniform Server port from the default 80 which IIS also uses to another port like port 85. Do this in the W:/usr/local/apache2/conf/ folder...
  21. The new version comes out on Christmas Day.... About the post and everything, believe me, i have read them all I keep updated and do a search of us on Google, Yahoo, MSN, and also read our stats... Thats how i get paid or should i say thats my money in this.. lol, it brings me joy to see us spreading and people using/spreading the word with that i need no $$$ from you all There are like 4 Stand Alone Servers for Joomla that uses Uniform Server... and we are the power behind Stand Alone Servers for products like Xoops and Mambo... we pratically made it possible just to say k going to sleeep now.... 3:46AM lol
  22. If we can find a ASP parser or something that can add the functionality of ASP to Apache, we will work on it... but for now, all we have found is ASP.NET. There is a tutorial in the SourceForge Patches System you can look at for ASP.NET, but for ASP, we are still looking around... till we can find one... or if you know one...
  23. If you are instrested in joining the Tranlation or GFX (Design) Team, please reply to this post and we will get back to you accordingly.
