Depending on the version, things might have changed.

hmm, please check once more to make sure everything is set correctly. Make sure you do not have another MySQL running in the background...
-
Look for a file called LIBMYSQL.DLL in your C:/Windows or C:/Windows/System32 folder. Also make sure you do not have Skype running, if you do, enter the settings to change the port for your incoming to somthing else other than port 80. Please bear with us as we will try solving this problem, step by step. Troubleshooting where this problem may be coming from. Thanks

Installed but no outside luck

Just delete the .htaccess file. -
I was about to tell you that the IP you gave on your last post was not a real IP but a network IP. So what is the problem now... is everything ok If you have a firewall, try and shut it down just to test and then enter the setting to change the setting to not block port 80. Make sure that you set the router forwarding correctly.

Newbie here with a question re: web servers
olajideolaolorun replied to dokiroku's topic in Uniform Server - Windows
As to the part where he says that you site is not visible to the outside world, what he meant is that you have to edit the setting to allow them in cause the default settiing is to block outside connections. To do this, edit the .htacess in W:/www/ For the other part, it really depends on the PC and the ISP. If your PC has a high memory capacity and the connection to your PC to you ISP is something like DSL+, then you should be good. Make sure you PC also has a very fast processor to serve everything needed. 1.2+ GHz. About you transferring, you can do that. Copy all the files and make a export of youur database to be imported into the live server. You may have to change some variables in some files/database regarding file paths and database setting. -
We will try and put that up soon. Don't worry. You can always search our names on Google.

yeah, the extension is also used by some Windows Program.

You will need a tool like Drive Manager to hide it. http://www.alexnolan.net/software/driveman.htm

Please, dont come to other peoples post posting something like this. You only had a problem and now you are bring others down. You didn't check to see if it is your router or if something else might be using the port like Skype. The problem is not with Uniform Server as it works for a lot of people, so please check your PC and your router setting. About your problem AoN, first you have to do a port forwarding in your router. you have to forward port 80 to your PC's local address. After that, make sure that all firewall is set to allow connections to port 80. About DynDNS, i will have to get back to you on taht one cause i never really tried them, but there is a post on how to set it up with the Uniform Server and it should work for all versions since it deals with DynDNS aspect and not the version of Uniform Server. Try using that post and if you need help just reply here and i will try to help you as best i can. I am trying to find an alternative i heard of, but till then please hold on.

Ok.. a> make sure you do not have a file called LIBMYSQL.DLL in the C:/Windows or C:/Widows/System32 folder. Also, make sure your code is correct and you do not have a bug in it. Delete 3.2 and just use 3.3. You do not need 3.2.... Thanks Megan -
Yeah... there are... Thanks.

...and what error do you get? Are you sure you saved it to the right directory?
