In the most recent two versions of Uniform Server (didn't check further back), if the website root has a directory called docs and you try to access it via a browser (http://localhost/docs/index.htm), the page is not found because the server looks in its own 'udrive/docs' directory for the file. You can see this if you type http://localhost/docs in the browser -- you get a list of all files in udrive/docs. I could not find a config or .htaccess problem here. I am complying with this site's directive to post it here before reporting it as a bug.

the www dir is where you place your files so they are visible in your browers so after I have placed my site and shut down uni server and start running again all the files are gone so I can start over again ? What is this about?

can anyone help me with my sercure server i dont know why its not workin ....

Hi, I am experimenting with Mona 4.1. Currently, I have a number of Joomla sites set up using ViryualHosts on 3.5 to serve public pages over http, but the admin back end over https. It is very easy to set up an entire site to use ssl on Mona, but I am wondering what is the best way to serve part of a directory over ssl, while serving the remainder over http. Any suggestions? I cant seem to get mod_rewrite to work and do not know how. Whenever I use software that uses mod_rewrite I go to my website And get this error Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, admin@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. Sorry if I m double posting, I found some other topics too but I didn't know in which to post. I downloaded the zip file and extract it in a usb drive I tried to run the start.bat it runs the blue screen says port ok opens the browser (firefox) but in the localhost/apanel says Failed to Connect The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost. I m having vista and I also have installed wamp, but it wasnt running while I was trying to run uniserver. What am I doing wrong? Please answer me or link me somewhere! Thanks in advance.

Hey I have install uniform server on my new vista pc also make it visible to the www all is work okay but every 1 or 2 hours the go down for me there come a error message like this Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/PHP/extensions\\php_openssl.dll the green lights in apache and mysql are still green , but they lost contact to www acces then i have to puss STOP ALL and then START ALL and after this all is okay again , into the next time its go down im not at Super shark to all this but hope someone can give me a tip how do resolve this best regards hans

Sometimes when starting the server I was unable to connect to panel or localhost with browser. I discovered by accident, that if I was running SKYPE, I could not launch Uniform Server. Then with a little investigation found out why. When SKYPE is behind NAT or a firewall and starts up, it uses port 80 so it is able to connect to the P2P network. Since the port is then occupied, Apache is unable to get the socket. If I launch Uniform Server before SKYPE, then all is OK. SKYPE must then grab some other open and popular port.

HI everyone I've got a site built from a cms which uses pageID's etc, you have the facility to use mod-rewrite to change the url's to html extensions. When I turn it on I get page not found on this server or you don't have permission. when I question this with the people who built the cms apparently you are supposed to just turn it on and away you go. I was wondering if any could explain the correct way to use this facility. thanks for any help UploadAproperty

Like a few other users, I am finding local access very slow. It seems to possibly involve MySQL because I notice it more on database driven web sites. Even if I turn off firewalls and any antivirus, a local site takes about 6 - 8 seconds to display. I am running Wordpress 2.7 with no plugins and very very little content. Just entering the Wordpress admin takes over 8 seconds. Any ideas? Is this normal? I am running version 3.5.

I have been running the uniform server for months in production mode with no problems but I went to upload a flash files (or i should say a bunch of flash files) and some of the do not work. The small flash buttons work but larger splash page graphics do not! I worked out that if it is over around 45kb it will not work! Why is this - what is restricting it? Thanks

I've installed uniformserver on a USB drive and used the Admin Virtual Host to set up a new host, and have followed the instructions in the wiki about how to get it to work for portable drives, (ie creating a PAC file and setting up my portable Firefox to use it as an automatic proxy, but when I try to access my host I get a 403 Forbidden error saying I don't have permission. First, thank you for sharing Uniform Server. It is great! I have used Uniform Server to set up 5 Joomla powered sites on one IP address using name based virtualhosts. I am attempting to set it up so that the sites are served via port 80, but allow login and administrator (backend) access via ssl port 443. I have read and followed the example on the wiki. I installed mod_ssl using the file posted. I edited httpd.conf to specify that the virtualhosts use port 80 by appending ":80" to each virtualhost. I have been reading the Mini Server Wiki Articles (Just finished 3, about to start 4) when I decided to try and enable folder listing in one of my folders. I did it by adding <Directory "/www/list"> Options Indexes </Directory> to the .htaccess, unfortunately this did not work. It gave a 404 error saying it couldn't find localhost:80/list (the folder is full of random files so I can see a list). My apache config is basically exactly the same as at the end of the Server 3 article, any help would be appreciated.

I get a window and the purple screen with the logo and a beep, and a brief cmd window then a blank browser with no source...? Hi gang, I'm trying to get rotatelogs working so that I don't have to shut down the server in order to change the log files, but not having any success. I've tried the following: CustomLog "|bin/rotatelogs logs/access.%Y.%m.%d 86400" combined and CustomLog "|bin/rotatelogs.exe logs/access.%Y.%m.%d 86400" combined and CustomLog "|rotatelogs logs/access.%Y.%m.%d 86400" combined and CustomLog "|rotatelogs.exe logs/access.%Y.%m.%d 86400" combined as well as various logfile names, but nothing: the server refuses to start unless I comment this out and reinstate the previous CustomLog definition. I am attempting to host 3 very small sites (5 static pages each) on the UniformServer v3.2a, on a Windows2000-Pro box. The USv3.2a is up and running, and behind a router - has a dynamic IP of 192.168.1.105. (3 other XP boxes are running at the moment, 100, 101, 102). Internet access is via DSL, dynamic IP. I have uploaded and installed in the modules the mod_vhost_alias.so file, also uncommented the load module portion relative to the mod_vhost in the httpd.config file. System: WinXP Service pack 3 intel® Core2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz 2.76 GHz, 3.12 GB of RAM Ok this one has really got me. I have: switched off firewall, and antivirus (also set them as safe zoned for apache and SQL but not got it going with them off yet) checked port 80 - clear pinged 127.0.0.1 - and responds removed IIS searched and removed all instances of PHP.ini and libmysql.dll not part of uniform server searched for any clues over the net with reference Apache and this error can anyone suggest what may be causing this?
