how to upgrad apache

Upgrading the apache integrated into the current uniform server is not that easy when you dont know what todo.

Upgrade:

 

Go to Apache archive:

 

http://archive.apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/win32/

 

Download this file (last in the 2.0 series) it’s easier to upgrade using this version (no need to change configuration file)

 

apache_2.0.63-win32-x86-openssl-0.9.7m.msi

 

Follow the instructions on this page to obtain the binaries:

Alternatively create a batch file named extract_msi.bat in the folder you saved the download to and add this line:

 

msiexec /a apache_2.0.63-win32-x86-openssl-0.9.7m.msi

 

Save the file and double click to run. It appears as if you are installing however it just extracts the files. Save to a folder of your choice, in this folder you will find the Apache files these are several folders down.

 

On a new copy of Uniform Server 3.5-Apollo copy the following from the new version 2.0.63

 

All the contents of folder bin to folder bin (allow overwrite)

 

All the contents of folder modules to modules (allow overwrite)

 

All the contents of icons to icons (allow overwrite)

 

Note: If you don’t wish to increase size just copy across existing Uniform Server files.

 

Note: I think everything should be compatible, in the past I used the above method for version 2.0.61 that worked fine.

ok well i am trying to upgrade to apache 2.2.10 & got the php mod for it php5apache2_2.dll

now i cant even start the thing i copied what was in the config file i even edit the start ane stop bat files to

get the httpd.exe it is really makeing me mad lol so what do i do to fix it ?

never mind i got it fixed & a little extra help from Ric ty & ty Alay cat @ the irc side i thank that is the way it is done if not sorry spelling aint what it use to be & if you like the Uniform Server User in my sing go on & tack them & use them i do not mind
