  2. I have been happily using the Uniform Server on my Windows 7 laptop for a couple of years. But now that I have installed Version 8.5.4, I have a problem pertaining to the password for user 'root' on the MySQL server. Prior to using this version, there was no default password for 'root'. I was perfectly content with having no password for 'root' because I use the Uniform Server solely as a test server on my laptop. I am not concerned about security in that environment. So now I see that after installing Uniform Server, the user 'root' has a password of 'root'. If I try to delete that password, I lose the ability to get into 'phpMyAdmin', and still my PHP code (that…

I noticed with the lates version I am using (7.1.4-Orion) MySQL keeps dying. I mean it completely dies. I will be in phpmyadmin, and it randomly shuts the server down, sometimes entirely or just sql. After an sql update, trying to view a table ect. its constant and annoying! Hardly happens when I run my scripts. Usually my fault if it does, but phpmyadmin is not my fault! Any ideas here? Does not happen to me at work, but does to a co-worker. But does for me at home. To be more clear, its either 'connection has been reset' or 'unable to connect'. And call by either localhost or 127.0.0.1 And more deterring that it still happens sometimes after restarting it all. See…

Hi all, Is it there a way to fix the MySQL server configuration window? I cannot see any databases nor create one using the unicontroller interface. I have 7 databases up and running and I had to create then from phpMyAdmin. Setting permissions for restricted users doesn't work either. Looks like the entire script is either messed up or I need to manually configure something that I'm not aware of I'm currently running Coral 8.0.0 Please help me understand!

I tried to load Drupal 7 on my Uniform Server 5.7.1 and get this message below. I apologize, but I have very little experience with the workings of a server. Should I go and download the PDO support files from MySQL? How hard is it to install? Will that mess up Uniform Server? I also found something on PHP.net that stated I just had to alter php.ini. I am not sure exactly which ones to enable. I have the Uniform Server running on a flash drive. My computer is running WindowsXP SP3 with 2Gb of ram, if that has anything to do with it. (and do I need to keep coming back here to keep seeing if anyone answers or is there an email notification? if needed knarfhill@embarqmail.co…

Hi all, I'm trying to find a way to enable and use InnoDB storage instead of MyISAM. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to enable InnoDB in Coral 8.0. I cannot even see InnoDB in phpMyAdmin. I checked my.ini and as far as I'm concerned InnoDB settings are there and they are enabled. Is it there a way to switch to InnoDB storage instead of using MyISAM as my primary db storage? I'm new to UniServer and I wanna thank everyone of you who worked to make this wonderful "on the go" package possible. By the way, I'm using it in a production environment hosted in VMWare with good uptime and few positive feedbacks from end users. Checking Logs and I found that InnoDB is not…

We are currently trying to switch from using WAMP, to UniServer. The main issue is trying to find where in the directory structure to insert our exported data from WAMP. Is it simply copying and pasting the sql file into a directory or is it more complicated? If it is as easy as pasting into a directory, which one would accomplish this? Thanks!

I downloaded, installed MySQL Workbench and ran it but can't conect to Uniserver with 'New server Instance wizard' as localhost. Is this because Apache MySQL is uncompatible or am I doing something wrong. Uniserver is running but may not be as a service? I had to use run_ondrive_w.bat to run it in windows xp sp3 because I couldn't figure out how to install it to a file path without spaces. Any help greatly appreciated. Am I even in the ball park? I'm trying to create a database.

Trying to create database for products sold on site and need some advice as this is my first time. What folder is a database created in? Does phpadmin help create databases? Does using MySQL Workbench make sence? Once created what is the best interface to manipulate and view the tables? Any advice greatly appreciated. I was thinking MySQL Workbench for the grunt work and Microsoft Acces for the finaly. I have an exel sheet with product information and would require that client information including ordering be on a seperate db. Maybe three dbs, one for orders only.

I'm trying to set up US Orion 7.0.9 on Windows 7 (64 bit) and everything seems to be working fine. Checking the server status shows that both Apache and MySQL are running and using the task manager I can see that mysqld-opt.exe is running. However, I can't connect to the MySQL from phpmyadmin. I just get the Access Denied page with the error: #2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured) Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed. I haven't changed the password, so can't understand why access should be denied. Any help would be much appreciated.

I get the error: Some of the queries were not executed properly. This could be caused by an unsupported (development or old) version of MySQL. Technical information about the queries: Line #563: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '(14) /*!40102 NOT NULL default CURRENT_TIMESTAMP ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP */,' at line 3 Click here to try this step again. I am using Uniform Server 5.7.4-Nano and MySQL 5.5.9 In the past I have never had an issue like this. Any ideas?

Hi, I have recently installed Uniserver on Windows XP Professional. In Server Security, the only error I have is: MySQL Server If the password is still set to root, then you probably need to change this by clicking the UNSECURE link. UNSECURE When I change the MySQL password it comes up with the following error: Error connecting to mysql. I have researched various threads but have hit a brick wall. I am a complete newbie (I have been advised by a friend I need to run a local server as I will be using Joomla). Any advice will be greatly appreciated as I am truly at a loss. Thank you, James

Scenario: I just booted my new PC, got into Windows 7, downloaded and extracted UniServer Nano (to a path with no spaces), started it, and I want Apache MySQL to start when I click on it from the system tray blue box. Question: what must I do for Apache MySQL to start? How do I test it? If this is answered somewhere else, I'd appreciate knowing where.
