Hi all, I've successfully installed uni-serv on my USB stick, using it as a portable development server. I'd like to add some debugging capabilities to my setup, and have installed DBG - 'PHP Debugger and Profiler' on top of php. Does anyone know of any IDEs that can be used from a USB stick and works with the debugger, so that I can add breakpoints, etc. Commercial or freeware! I've looked briefly at PHPed and some others, but they seem far to heavy to be used in a portable setting. Thanks!

  3. OK. I had set up an Iframes test site and then changed the frames to divs for UniServer/www/index.html, hopping that creating seperate html files would make it easier to create php files to call onclick of li elements from external.js files that change the div.innerHTML with mysql_query. The onclick of the query works and the div.innerHTML changes as httpresponce echo file.php, producing the desired html elements in the div The external CSS presents the change perfectly. Unfortun…

  5. G'day! I how found that hard-coding Drive letter in config files (httpd.conf, ssl.conf, my.ini, php.ini, etc.) can lead to issues when you migrate a USB-key installation to another PC. I work on projects on multiple PC's and wanted the system to recognize what relative path it was on, then adjust according. My solution is as follows (If anyone has alternative and/or better solution, please share): This is for Windows 9X, 2K and XP (Vista not verified) Step 1: Install like normal Step 2: Change references to %drive-letter%:/ to simply a backslash in 'main' config files Step 3: Create Start.bat file in UniServer Folder on USB drive with following lines: …

  8. I installed Uniform Server today to run Raven Nuke. Everything installed properly and I moved the Raven Nuke files into the www folder. I was able to create a new database, complete the Raven Nuke setup but when I attempt to call-up the index.php page all I get is a blank page that refuses to load. Any help is deeply appreciated.

  9. Hello, The solution for these sounded easy to me to avoid spaces : to use short-file-names instead of the rwa file-names. But I guess you thought about it too and that there is some more reasons to keep it like that. We found the error message in new_start.c, so we managed to replace the GetCurrentDirectory line by GetCurrentDirectory(MAX_PATH,spaceWorkingDir); // current required to build paths GetShortPathName(spaceWorkingDir, curWorkingDir, MAX_PATH); Of course, we can check if there are space not to make it if not needed. Though, I compiled new_start but didn't know what to do with it : there is no new_start.exe nowhere in the uniform server structure and…

  10. Hello! I'm new here and I started to use Uniform Server since today (I'm totally newbie! xD). Exploring wiki and forums, I've been able to run and test my server, and also start to test my own web. It's the first time I get results so quickly following a web tutorial, I'm very proud of myself xD but I also have to thank you for this site, it's very good organized and very clear to start from the very beginning. Just I find strange that folders structure in the wiki is not the same in my server (for example: the wiki folder "*\Uniform Server\udrive\www" is my "*\Uniform Server UPX\diskw\www"), I'd been quite messed with that for a while. ¿Maybe there are other wiki pag…

  11. Hello! I'm following Quick MySQL guide and I can't complete point 2: PHP Connect. I get this warning message: I've checked password is ok and apparently server is running (if I change dbhost for a non existent, I get a different error). My last idea is that maybe there's a port problem, because I change server listener port from 80 to 8080 due to initial problems with php. This is rather an intuition than a good idea xD but I don't know anything else to try. Also if the listener port is the problem, I don't know how to fix it ^^U Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards! ^^ [EDIT] I tried to include my particular listener port like this: $dbhost…

Hey guys, I recently just got into Dreamweaver and wanted to host my website live on the web. I heard of Uniform Server from a friend and am able to use localhost to host my website perfectly. Now on to the question, I have no idea how to make a database that automaticly puts a username and password that allows access to the site when requested from the account registration page, and also how do I host my website on the WWW? Sorry if I am so newbie, I have been trying to get this working for days and have had no luck at all.

I've found this guide to put Campsite on a generic wamp, but i can't take out anything good... someone could be so kind to help me making everything working?

So yeah, I need help with something here. I have been using WAMP-Server some, and there you can just add a new folder to the "\www\" directory and it shows up on the index page. But to do that on Uniserver it seems that you have to edit the ".htaccess" file or something right? And I have no clue whatsoever on what to edit I want to have different websites in different folders on my index page. Can I get any help with that? I run Uniform Server 5.5-Nano on Windows 7 OS if that is any help.

In my script, all the records in the database are output into a table. One of the columns is the primary key (Invoice Number). I would like for each Invoice Number to be a link, so when selected the user will be directed to a page where they can see and edit the entire record (invoice). How would I do that? I already have a page written that will display the information, I just don't have a way of telling it which record to display. Here is the code: <? include("dbinfo.inc.php"); mysql_connect(localhost,$username,$password); @mysql_select_db($database) or die( "Unable to select database"); $query="SELECT * FROM contacts"; $result=mysql_query($query); $num=mysql_num…

Links are a very important part of a Custom Web Design Web page. But when most people think of Web pages, they think of the content as the text that is written on the page. In many eye tracking studies, it has been shown that people viewing Web pages are drawn to images. But their eyes are also drawn to links. This is because, in most Web pages, links are underlined and in a different color than the surrounding text. They stand out. When your readers come to a Web page, they are trying to learn something or be entertained. But because most people don't read Web pages, then scan them. Good Web writing takes this into account, and makes the pages as scannable as possibl…

Hallo, I often use Firefox, a great browser, and sometimes go to Tools - Options - Security - saved password to read and erase the passwords for the sites that I visit. Do you know if there is a way to shorten this path, maybe insert something in the toolbar to speed up this task? Thank you __________________ You have never see baptism gifts like these?
