What's that thing on the right hand side of the screen? I'll upload mine as soon as I get the motherboard fixed on my computer with the good desktop.
-
bah! I've got a 2.14 ghz, 512 meg RAM, and 30 gb HD laptop

have you tried to restore it using phpmyadmin? I'm not sure whether it'll work with that big of a file though.
-
have you tried clicking "stop server" in the admin panel?

Error on doing a DatabaseRestore through phpMyAdmn

make sure there's no empty lines in your sql; sometimes that messes it up for me. -
Thanks. I'll let you know if I find anything else. So basically I should just have to install the tomcat plugin, and when I access the .java files through a webbrowser it will compile them like with php?
-
It is a webscript. It compiles into a java servlet that can be run on any server running tomcat. I presume that is a .jsp.
-
Ok, I'll try to clarify. I found a script online that uses Tomcat. But I could only find the source download. I downloaded a zip file full of files with the extension .java and a readme file. The readme says that before you can use the script you must compile the .java files. It gives commands that you can use to compile them if you're using linux and have python installed. What I need to know is how to compile them on windows.
-
I have the source for a java server side script. It only tells how to compile it on linux or debian. Are there any tools for windows that will do this? It says that once compiled it uses tomcat.

click the export tab, select your options and output preference, and click go

i voted msi, but then i changed my mind when i realized that uniformserver doesn't require any installation. Now I'm saying zip. Also, I have a suggestion for distribution. You should make it available via bittorrent too. It'll save you bandwidth. If you need a tracker, you can either use owntracker.com or install torrenttrader light. all you have to do is upload the files and chmod a couple of them.

are there any advantages to using it as a service? (other than ability to start mySQL from unitray)
-
ok. Thanks. I'm going to try this on a second copy of the server so I don't kill my original one. If it doesn't work perfectly, I can wait for the next version. EDIT: Nevermind. I realized that I might mess up windows, not uniserver. I'll just wait for the next version. I can't risk messing up my computer.
-
how do I activate the services plugin? I didn't see a batch file to start it in the uniserver directory.
-
so basically it needs a plugin that I don't have, and can't get because it's not finished?
-
I have the unitray plugin installed. It works fine for most things, but I cannot get it to start mySQL. The option is grayed out in the menu. I am using a dell inspiron 1000 running windows XP SP 2, with McAfee (thought I don't think this is a firewall or antivirus issue). I have tried rebooting the server, unitray, and my computer.

they are called captchas (completely automated turring test to tell computers and humans apart)
-
where will they be available for download when they are released? on the download page at sf or on the plugins page here?
-
ok. One more question: If I add a virtual host, then later don't need it, what do I do to remove it? Or is that not possible?
-
According to the status page, But on the plugin download page the link still doesn't work. It just loads the same page in a new window. Is it finished but not released yet?
-
thanks. I figured out how to use it and it seems to work. But it tells me on the side, under the list of hosts, Is this a problem or is it just confused?
-
try setting it to foward to your computer. that might be the problem

could you send me the script with a short explanation of how it works? I sent Alleykat a pm a couple of days ago and haven't got a response back. My email is elyk53 at gmail dot com Thanks
