ok - I am assuming one of the difficulties in getting uniform server going on cd is that Apache writes to log files and whatnot - can anyone tell me what files are written by what in uniform server and if there is anyway to turn of any of the log file or other file writing ??? thanks, megan

Hello - has anyone gotten Uniform Server to run on a CD and if so, how was this accomplished?? thanks, megan

First you have to turn off all the log files.

The Apache log file can be turned off in the httpd.conf

The PHP Log file can be turned off in the php.ini

hmmm......

I think thats about it....

Thanks! for the reply - can I "turn them off" simply by commenting out that line with a # ?? thanks again, megan

hello,

i am trying to run the uniform server from cd too but havent succeeded yet :(

i tried turning off all log files by commenting out the lines in the apache & php config files but that didnt work and i tried setting the config files to the virtual drive w: created by the server_start.bat but that didnt work out either.

can somebody give me a hint on how to get it done?

Hi -

I haven't tried this yet (up to my ears in other work) but the next thing I am going to try is having all log files etc that must be written to, be written to C:\WINDOWS\Temp - if you try this and it works, would you post back and let us know?

thanks, megan
