April 5, 20178 yr comment_11888 I see that there are no incremental PHP releases for Uniserver in the last 2-3 months, when are they expected? (PHP is on 7.1.3 while Uniserver is still on 7.1.1) Report
April 12, 20178 yr comment_11890 I`ve also been wondering the same thing. 7.0.16 and 7.0.17 have also been released this year. Shame to see this brilliant software die. I also use Neard, which is good, but nowhere near as lightweight as U.S. Would be at least nice to know this project isn`t dead? Report
May 30, 20178 yr comment_11898 hopefully they upload it to GitHub, that would be a life saver for it, no doubt Report
August 1, 20178 yr Author comment_11921 It seems this project is becoming abandoned, too bad since UniServer was the only WAMP-package that was consistently up to date.. :/ Report
August 4, 20178 yr comment_11922 It seems this project is becoming abandoned, too bad since UniServer was the only WAMP-package that was consistently up to date.. :/ Yes, seems that way. Pity. Would have been nice to see a message on the homescreen, so we know what`s going on. I`ve given it long enough in the hope an update would appear, so I`m primarily using Neard now.http://neard.io/ And I agree with Obsdark, hopefully we see US on Github someday. Report
August 30, 20178 yr comment_11928 Hey guys, no the project has not been abandoned. I believe Ric is just a little busy right now, such as i am hence why i've been absent and in the background for a few years. The server itself is very adaptable and you should actually be able to update it yourself if you toy around with the binaries. Thank you. Best Regards Olajide Olaolorun The Uniform Server Development Team Report
August 30, 20178 yr comment_11929 Thanks for the update olajideolaolorun, glad to hear the project is alive. Ok, I`ll have a go with updating PHP if it`s not so difficult. Report

The server itself is very adaptable and you should actually be able to update it yourself if you toy around with the binaries. Thank you. It is not abandoned really? The forum full of questions and here the staff takes months even years without appearing. No Esta abandonado? en serio? el foro lleno de preguntas y aqui el personal lleva meses incluso años sin aparecer. Report
August 30, 20178 yr comment_11931 OK, it is easy to upgrade from the php.net downloads, so I now have PHP7.1.8 Thanks olajideolaolorun, didn`t realise it was that easy. Report
August 30, 20178 yr comment_11932 @display, there is no staff. The team right now only consist of Ric and me in the backend making sure the operations is running smoothly. We are always looking for help but remember this is a free project and open source at that. @teamayu, see, basically everything can be updated by you thats the ease of Uniform Server. September 2, 20178 yr comment_11934 Yes, it`s pretty easy. I`ve updated my installation to all latest php branches now, so I`m pretty happy with that. Report
September 3, 20178 yr comment_11935 PHP7.1.9 just came out, so just updated to that. I`ll try and post some downloads on the forum when I get chance. Might be useful for others. Report
September 4, 20178 yr Author comment_11936 @teamayu, see, basically everything can be updated by you thats the ease of Uniform Server. I took an educated guess and performed the following steps upgrading PHP 7.1 to the latest patch release: - Downloaded latest zip VC14 x86 Thread Safe from http://windows.php.net/download#php-7.1. Note that the extensions directory is named "ext" instead of "extensions"- Merged changes in PHP ini config files (mostly paths) Are there any official instructions on how to update the PHP-module? In case I missed anything. Report
September 9, 20178 yr comment_11938 Esta claro @Ric se harto de hacerlo todo y que llegue el tal @olajideolaolorun a echarse flores. It is clear @Ric is tired of doing everything and that the @olajideolaolorun arrives to throw flowers. Report
November 8, 20178 yr comment_11958 @display, maintaining a full project while trying to maintain a life sometimes gets difficult, Ric is likely going through the same as life hits us left and right randomly, we are always looking for more people to help and contribute and i think you would be a great fit to help out in the forum if you put your mind to it. Best Regards Olajide Olaolorun The Uniform Server Development Team Report
November 30, 20178 yr comment_11965 Appearantly some people have found out how to implement other php versions within Uniform like marco. If these efforts can be put into a fork in github than not all the work goes to the two guys maintaining this project alone? Needs to be verified by the community, so a beta strategy might be an alternative to share the work over more people without being directly involved as team member. Best regards,Albert Report
December 4, 20178 yr Author comment_11966 The solution that I used here (http://forum.uniformserver.com/index.php?showtopic=3234&do=findComment&comment=11936) still works fine, currently running on ~6 developer setups. Report
December 12, 20178 yr comment_11968 What about PHP7.2? That`s the main concern now. I assume we can`t just download that expecting it to work? Report
December 12, 20178 yr comment_11969 What about PHP7.2? That`s the main concern now. I assume we can`t just download that expecting it to work? No, it doesn't work. That's why I gave up on Uniserver and installed binaries of Apache and PHP 7.2 and everything works great since I only need sqlite and not mysql. Report
December 15, 20178 yr comment_11971 It`s no problem, I can use Neard. But Neard is fairly slow compared to Uniform Server. Report
February 21, 20188 yr comment_11978 Any update on the status of the project? If it’s over (or on hold indefinitely) then I think it would be best for users to hear that spelled out clearly. Report
March 3, 20196 yr comment_12036 I think it's safe to say now that this project is pretty much abandoned even if one dev said it wasn't.It's been two years now so...Shame though. Report
November 17, 20196 yr comment_12236 There are updates as late as this year: https://sourceforge.net/projects/miniserver/files/ From all appearances, it doesn't seem to be an abandoned project, moreover it looks like all of the latest versions of included softwares are present. Report
February 17, 20206 yr comment_12429 Even if new releases have stalled existing US versions can be easily hacked up, tweaked, upgraded etc. I'm still using 7.0.1 orion but i'll be blatantly honest, it's still superior to xampp. The later current releases i'm not so keen on as they have a gui driven way of controlling US - older versions had unitray but also batch files for doing things via the prompt and php scripts - it's way cooler and allows you to get some quite complex stuff done with no recompiling etc needed.
