Zian
I just installed the latest version of UniServer Zero and had a lot of trouble figuring out how to start the server because nothing showed up on my screen after running UniController.exe. It was only by accident that I clicked the "Show hidden icons" in my Windows taskbar and saw the "U" logo there. Please show the UniServer window by default when running the program normally; it's always possible to run a program as "Minimized" using a shortcut, which would be an indication that the user wants the program to only show up in the Windows taskbar. I am running UniServer on a Windows 7 x64 machine.
candace
I'd like to second this. I've used UniServer in the past and expected the UniServer window to open when I launched the application. I could see the application running in the task manager and thought something was wrong because no window was opening. The icon was hidden for me and if it weren't for the previous message I wouldn't have thought to look for one. I'm also running UniServer on a Windows 7 x64 machine. DerekAntis
It sounds like you're experiencing some confusion with UniServer Zero's interface on Windows 7. It’s common for programs to minimize to the taskbar or system tray by default, which can make them hard to locate if you're not aware of their settings. To ensure the UniServer Zero window shows by default, follow these steps: Check Startup Settings: Open UniController.exe and look for any settings related to startup behavior. Ensure that it's set to display the window on startup rather than minimizing to the system tray. Create a Shortcut: You can create a shortcut for UniController.exe that forces it to open normally. Right-click the UniController.exe file, select "Create shortcut," and then right-click the shortcut, choose "Properties," and in the "Shortcut" tab, set the "Run" dropdown menu to "Normal window." Taskbar Notifications: If UniServer continues to minimize to the system tray, ensure that the notification settings in Windows are set to show system tray icons. This way, you'll see the "U" logo and can easily access the program. Update UniServer: Ensure you are using the latest version of UniServer Zero, as updates might include improvements to visibility and startup settings. Check Documentation: Refer to the UniServer Zero documentation or support forums for specific instructions related to your version and Windows 7.
