Where is the license for mySQL located in UniformServer 5.5a (I am using the zip version). Also, where can I download the source files used to compile the mySQL binaries in that same distribution. Thank you in advanced.

LOL... I guess I should clarify my question.

I reviewed all of the files in Uniform Server 5.5a and cannot locate the license for mySQL. It appears that all of the other licenses are in place, just no License for mySQL.

Since I had not received an answer to my post yet, I took the liberties to review the releases going all the way back to Uniform Server 3.3 only to discover that every single one of those releases also lack a licensing file for mySQL.

All of the releases prior to the 5.0 release contained a README.txt file that referred to "more license information" however the referrers were inaccurate.

In light of this information, I guess the question being begged now is whether or not this is an error that has been overlooked for at least the past 5 years, or are the mySQL files included in current versions of Uniform Server licensed under terms other than the GPL?

If it is an error, it probably should be corrected asap, especially since it affects every person that uses and/or distributes Uniform Server. If the mySQL files included in Uniform Server have been licensed under terms other than the GPL, then I'm sure others including myself would like to know.

I thank anyone in advance for shedding some light on this matter.

Thanks for the feedback. In the next release of US you will find a new folder in docs containing licences.

Any licences that have not been included with US are inadvertent omissions and not intentional.

Copyright and licences are respected if there is omissions please let us know so they can be added to the next release.

All main components within US are published under their original licence no changes are made or implied.

All the best

Ric :)

Thank you Ric for your reply. I've been looking through US files and it appears that there are a few other missing licenses. OpenSSL and msmtp (plus libraries) are a couple that I remember off the top of my head. You guys should assign someone to keep up on the licenses just to give peace of mind over compliance issues (just a suggestion). Other than that... US rocks.
