  1. [security - removed] Please, tell me if it works.
  2. So, all I have to do is change the port it accesses to another port, and port forward 21 to that port?
  3. ??? I'm sorry, but I am completly confused. I'm a web programmer, not much of a server person.
  4. The actual web server is using port 81...
  5. All I did was follow the instructions for how to install the FTP server...so, I doubt it...
  6. I can't get this to work. Could someone please walk me through it. I know, my problems with outside access are making me look like I don't know a thing about any of this, but, it's true...I'm a web programmer, not a server person... Thank you in advance for your help. Oh, I feel stupid, I almost forgot to mention that I have the UniTray and the Quick 'n Easy FTP Server plugins. I hope the UniTray isn't in anyway conflicting with it.
  7. I have been in there, several times, and either noone is there, or noone talks. Do you know of anyway to set-up a page like DynDNS has it? If so, I shouldn't have a problem. I'd transfer my domain there, but, the domain company says thhey are not allowed to do it...
  8. Google doesn't seem to be offering much for me.
  9. No, I'm sorry, I think I misled you. It isn't the port that is the problem, the problem, is that it wouldn't allow a colon in the A Record, thus not allowing a port number.
  10. The domain is on a completly different server, I told the A Record to point it to the IP and port, but it refused the port, and accepted the IP. Where is the port triggering page? I suppose I should ask this now, can I have multiple ports on it?
  11. I'm told that the port wasn't permitted in the A Record.
  12. nvm, I fixed it. ^^' It was in my site config file. *feels really stupid for having overlooked it*
  13. I meant with the port. Also, now I can't log into my test site. http://esbrandt.doesntexist.com/Brutal_Knights I fixed the port on DynDNS, so, now it will load, but I still can't login. User: AoN Pass: admin
  14. How would I set up the A record of an outside domain to goto that?
  15. I have edited the ports, and all, I restarted the server, and my friends still can't access it. I know it isn't because they are on the same network or ISP, as they live on the other side of the world...
  16. Do I have to change the port forwarding on my router admin site?
  17. I think I set the forwarding correctly. As for the firewall, the only firewalls that I can think of would be the router firewall, which I have told t to allow port 80 by default of UniServer (It automaticly put it in there...), and the Microsoft Windows Firewall, which I have set port 80 for both TCP and UDP. I just disabled my firewall on Windows, and it didn't work, and I can't disable the router firewall.
  18. Everyone says they can't access it via DynDNS or the direct IP address. So, I think I screwed up somewhere. http://esbrandt.doesntexist.com/Brutal_Knights That's the DynDNS hyperlink, and I'm not to comfortable with posting my IP address, because the admins can easily get that from logs.
  19. My computers IP address would be 192.168.0.100, and I have set it to forward port 80. Then there's the firewall, I don't know if I have one.
  20. I know there are severa; threads already made to cover this, but, they all seem to be for another verson of UniServer, I'm not sure on that. Due to this, I am completly lost on how to get this is working right. To start out, I am behind a router, I really wish I wasn't, but, I am. The router is a DI-624 from D-Link, and I have full access to the admin site for it. I have UniServer 3.3, and it is fully installed, not as a server, I use my PC for other things, and as a server, is tend to lag a bit... I'm registered with DynDNS, and I was hoping to get this working so I can stop paying for hosting for unreliable hosts. ^^' Thank you in advance for your help.
