    Graphviz

... and that "one in a thousand" can afford to get a Linux server, where you can install Graphviz with only one command (at least on my distro ) The same applies with ImageMagick / GraphicsMagick, isn't the PHP GD extension (which is very easy to install) enough for most people?

    Running Perl scripts

Well, I was explaining that to the users (who obviously don't read every post in the forum), not you
  3. You told him that his ISP was blocking Port 80, but he thought that the Port 80 block you were talking about affected his internal IP (LAN IP) and not his public Internet IP. That's why we couldn't access his server (while using Port 80) and that's also why he's listening on Port 81 of his internal IP, get it? He says that we didn't solve it because we didn't help him get Port 80 to work as he hates Port 81 (for the real reason, you'll have to ask him, all I know is that he wasn't very happy after we told him that he couldn't get Port 80 to work as his ISP was blocking it) AoN: If you want Port 80, without all that fuss of getting a redirect from another server and having problems with your scripts, just change your ISP. If that isn't the problem, please give us more information
  4. Yea, if you can live with that error, just live with it!
  5. Why do you have to use 20 distros? Well, unless you're looking for one you like
  6. There was a similar problem in this thread.
  7. Olajide, you probably missed the log posted here. In that log, AoN thought that the Port 80 block you told him about applied to his LAN and not his public IP. That was the problem, which I found when I told him to do a port forward on 81 instead of 80 of his public IP. In other words, he thought that 192.168.0.105:80 (his internal IP) was blocked instead of us.defranks.net:80 (his public IP) AoN says that we didn't fix it because he was thinking about using Port 80 as by using Port 81 "that would require a port to be added to the URL, and most people just overlook that, and it would cause errors for them" (in his own words) According to the log, we (ungamed and I) tried various ways to give AoN a URL that uses Port 80 (by using other servers, framesets, bla bla) but he rejected most (if not all) of them because the script he's using on his site wouldn't work properly with them

    Running Perl scripts

Sorry about the confusion I caused, I've realized what I was missing in this post:

    Graphviz

Do you have any programs (or scripts) that you want to use Graphviz with in mind?
  10. A while ago... If anyone finds that "small real smtp forwarder exe for win" AlleyKat was talking about, please inform me, here or in a private message
  11. Hope that answers your question
  12. If I remember correctly, only MSVC++ 7 Runtimes were included with XP (or at least, one of its service packs)

  14. Maybe I should learn how to code on paper and debug with roaches, so when I'm in Olajide's situation I can just run off to the jungle and continue coding there
  15. MrX

    Just curious.

Well, another reason I may have overlooked is because AlleyKat was the first to submit a translation, on the forum, at least. Proof is available here
  16. If you can't understand what Olajide said above (about 90% of you won't), then view this log:
  17. I've received your private message, I guess we really need to include a better README.txt with Uniform Server (and put it in a place where people are more likely to see it) so people who have just started using HTTPds (like Apache) will know how to use it properly So, have you solved your problem with Joomla and do you have any suggestions on what we should include in the README.txt?

  19. That was because you insisted on using only Port 80, right?
  20. (Before you read anything below, please note that all the timestamps are GMT +8, the chat took place immediately after the last post here, lines prefixed with * are actions, if you don't know what they are then you probably don't use IRC) Anyway, for those of you who're wondering how we solved AoN's problem(s), here's the log of our IRC chat for you to add to your collection The uneventful entrance: The problem solving starts: We finally realize that we've been trying for months to solve something so obvious: Now we have a new problem to solve: We sidetracked: ... and then AoN disappeared from IRC, never to be seen again, at least until the time of writing: To make the long story short, always remember that if you can't solve a problem in the forum, that's because forums lack the IRC factor That's all for now

    Why???

NO ONE !@#$ing APPRECIATES THE BEAUTY OF IDLING ON IRC I repeat, NO ONE !@#$ing APPRECIATES THE BEAUTY OF IDLING ON IRC
  22. No problem

  25. Firstly, the files should be placed in W:\www, everything there will be accessible via http://localhost/ What're you using Uniform Server for? Are you trying to host a site, testing web software or making a local installation of another site you're administrating? Unless you're trying to host a site, you shouldn't allow outside access by doing a port forward. I'm not good with routers (as I don't own one myself), but I think it probably wants the internal IP of your PC. Here's how to find out what that is, for Win 9x / ME, go to Run, type "winipcfg" and hit enter, for NT / 2k / XP / 2k3, open a Command Prompt and type "ipconfig". Paste the output here or in a private message I hate to say this but if you're using ZoneAlarm, there are a few problems that might haunt you, the Admin Panel HTTP_REFERER problem and the pskill.exe problem are two I can think of right now. Also, if you're going to allow outside access to your site, you should fix the mod_dav security flaw.
