  1. Check out http://www.jquery.com/. They have classes/libraries premade so all you need to do is "use" it. Megan's suggestion is good though to learn the fundamental basics. But then you would have to create your own library. JQuery is premade you just need to use it. Good Luck
  2. Hi I wonder if it's because your viewing the page from 1 ip. So no matter how many times you refresh it won't update the figure because your from the same ip. That would be my guess?
  3. Hi Ric Any external access goes to his LiveBox router's Webserver, which runs on Port 80. I don't think any configuration changes to US will help.. UNLESS you change US's listening port number. Though I never liked that because sometimes it would display the port number in the address bar.. Do you want to PM either me or Ric the address so we can have a look inside the LiveBox and find out how to change it's port number?
  4. Hi Starlight This is something I would do just to make sure everything is working from the Uniform Server point of view. Inside the w:\www folder create a new folder called 'test'. Now try browse to that using your dydns domain. Let me know your results. Kalpz ------------------------- EDIT: It seems as though your Livebox router accepts public port 80 access. Some routers have a webserver which has public port 80 access. I think this is the problem. Try changing this port to 81 so your Uniform Server can listen on Port 80 and not your Router.
  5. Just want to let you know that I've also been doing some Ajax work with Uniform Server and I havn't experienced any problems. Kalpz
  6. LOL, no problem! Thanks Ric.
  7. Wow! Well, I run my own hosting company and wanting to setup a server at home for backup. So if my server is down.. ns3/ns4.domain.com will take over (my server at home).. ns1/ns2.domain.com points to my hosting server. Hence why I don't want to use an A record. FYI: I have a static IP at home. Example: You'll see my hosting site.. from hosting server. (ns1/ns2 points to hosting server IP) Server goes down..no site [if I had my server setup as backup] (ns3/ns4 - I want these pointing to my home IP) When server goes down, people can still see our site.. (My aim is to let my clients check announcements and updates etc) using same domain name My server at home needs a DNS server and was hoping for information about this and also how to set it up.
  8. Hey Sorry You know when you have a domain name.. well for it to work with a web hoster they give you nameservers. So say I have domain: abc.com. Hosting company gives me 2 nameservers.. ns1/ns2.hosting.com (hosting.com being the hoster). Those 2 nameservers point to the hosting server. So the domain can be resolved and then display my site. I want a domain pointed to my home server thats running US. I don't want to use an A record... Hope that makes sense
  9. Hi, I have domain name where I have registered my static ip as a nameserver.. for example: ns3.mydomain.com > myIP ns4.mydomain.com > myIP I know same IP can be used for both nameservers.. as it requires 2 nameservers to work. Anyway, I have US running and I want to point my domain to my server via nameserver. Is there a way we can do this? When set my domain to point to my server via A record, it works. When I change back to nameserver, it doesn't. Any idea's?
  10. Is this line uncommented? #NameVirtualHost *

I strongly agree here with this forum being a support forum and the use of the search button. A question for you is that if an application like US is working fine then the user doesn't need to request support. Why should they have to come here to request support when the product ITSELF is working 100% to plan? That in itself reflects the application to be in it's highest quality and popular. It is the product that sells to a customer not the support forum. We just help them if required. Uniform Server speaks for itself.. is what I am trying to say. My 2 cents.
  13. I just got into that. Quite useful for some things.
  14. Hi - yes when you first install US it only allows localhost through. To change this or make US public do this. Go into the www folder, open .htaccess file with Wordpad and comment these lines... Order Deny,Allow Deny from all Allow from 127.0.0.1 To comment put a hash -> # infront of the lines like so: #Order Deny,Allow #Deny from all #Allow from 127.0.0.1 That should work..
  15. Fair enough.. I wonder whats causing it then.. Ah well..Thanks anyway
  16. Yup, I download at 450kb/s which is 4.3mbps I think..i've uploaded at around 200kb/s... Cable internet here in NZ is really good, and stable. We get full capacity...

  18. Ya, His speed is 25mbps down 15mbps up... mine is 4mbps down and 2mbps up...
  19. As in, a friend downloaded an application from me which was 300mb in size. So my friend isnt uploading to me... He's downloading FROM me .. He has a pretty fast connection, 25mbps to be exact...So, he should actually be downloading from me around 100kb/s... wonder why it stayed at 40kb/s
  20. Hey. Was wondering, cause I use uniserver to deploy my software with friends and up wondered why they download at around 40kb/s .. my upload speed is 2mbps on cable..so i should be able to upload faster... really weird.. The guy getting the file has a better connection than 256k...
