We have Beta Versions for Beta Testers to test and see if everything is alright. About the Stable and Developer Release.. nah, not needed. Our plan is to update everything has it is being released... and that will be too much work, we still have plugin installers and some other things to work on... feature request, bug fixes, and so on so we are over worked and that will triple everything right now. And we are also thinking of a Linux package or even any other like Mac OS X, so we can catch up in the game

Posibility is that IIS is running... without starting the server, go to http://localhost and tell me what it says...

There is soemthing wrong.. what page.. can you take a screesnhot? Do you have IIS running on your Laptop.. make sure you uninstall IIS first before running the server....

You copied every single file and folder that came with the Uniform Server? Also, did you start it and when you did, did it work or say anything?

Copy the whole Uniform Server folder... You need everything to run the server also on your laptop...

hmm.. Its definately the Scripting System... Try typing "help"

If ping does not work via Command Prompt, there is something wrong with the Windows Scripting Program.... Try it without cd'ing to the C:\UniServer directory..... Do you have any Anti-Virus or any other Firewalll Software? Also, do you have a previous install of PHP, Apache, or MySQL on your PC? Try searching your PC for LIBMYSQL.DLL & PHP.INI If it shows anywhere other than the Uniform Server folder, delete it....

Yeah just as AlleyKat said.. Also make sure that you did not mistakenly cleared your server. Make sure the files are still there cause i remember while working on Admin Panel 2.0 i mistakenly cleared the server and almost lost everything.... I lost important files but recover some.... Anyways, check the C:/Windows for a file named LIBMYSQL.DLL, also check C:/Windows/System32 Make sure there is no PHP.INI file in C:/ and the other places i mentioned on top also... Hope this helps... can't wait to see a user made Admin Panel

Cabra, Uniform Server 3.3 wont be released till PHP 5.1 comes out of Beta and in Stable Sorry Securitywonks, currently the bat files is the best and small way to run the server. It is also safe and also editable, meaning users and developers can modify easily.... which makes it more open source Uniform Server 3.3 comes with Admin Panel 2.0, a new Admin Panel. Do you have a W:/ drive or an AntiVirus/Firewall software that might be blocking the program from running on port 80? Try runing command prompt from All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt Type ping localhost or ping 127.0.0.1 What happens? About the Rube On Rails, we plan to have a plugin out for that later but as you can see not our hands are filled... just wish we can find a good NSIS Developer to help with the installer creation...

lol, so does it work? It may have been looking for the http://localhost proxy and not the one from the local server. Uniform Server does not need internet connection to the outside world by the way.

Yes, you do not need to login as Administrator. As long as your profile is in the Admin Group it should work unless you changed the settings and the Admin Group options. When it says Access Denied, is that from Internet Explorer or from starting Start.bat

It has not yet being released. We are currently focusing on 3.3 now, and there after start the installer for the Tomcat 5 Plugin. The plugin is complete but the installer is not made yet.

If you want to use the Tomcat with the Uniform Server Apache, i would recommend you get the Tomcat Plugin cause it comes with all the settings.... currently working on 3.3, and after that we will start the installers... the plguin is ready, just needs a installer... You can also use your own Tomcat installation but that would require some research and some httpd.conf manipulation from your side.

Yes it comes with that... The .htaccess file blocks anyone except localhost unless you modified it. Zone Alarm cannot block it and run it locally alone, it will absolutely block it and will not allow it to work even on localhost.
