It really is But don't worry... If you do not mind me asking, have you ever installed any other WAMP Package like Apache2Triad?

I tried to install apache (don't know wich version) MySQL and PHP.

 

I want to learn to program PHP and MySQL, so the books said that I should set my computer as a server. But I couldt make it work, so I deleted/uninstalled all these programs and downloaded uniformserver.

 

It went well with PHP, but when I got to the chapter: MySQL, the problem began...

So the server actually loaded but MySQL was not working... never happened, MySQL always works after being started, we have never had a problem with MySQL....

 

When you say delete, did u mean you deleted the installtion folder without actually uninstalling them?..... If so, then that can also cause problems.

I unistalled all the programs I could. And then deleted the rest.

There must be somehting wrong.. do u have any other programs running or on that might be causing this? like hMailServer can cuase a problem with MySQL if you installed a new MySQL server with it...

No, I have an ftp-server-program installed, but it is not running.

 

I'm formating my harddisc now, so it should work after that.

K.... but i hate the fact that you had to format it and reinstall Windows from start...

It's ok.

It wasn't the only problem my computer had. This was just the drop.

I'm sorry. I can't tell you what was wrong. I've had alot of troubles with my computer. It all began when I intalled SP2. I've unistalled it, but all problems wasn't solved.

The problem could be from my attempeted PHP, MySQL, Appache installment, but I really can't tell.

 

Now I have formated my harddisc and reinstalled XP. And it works now.

Answer: Please format your harddrive, reinstall your OS, and try again

like hMailServer can cuase a problem with MySQL if you installed a new MySQL server with it...

 

May I ask how hMailServer can cause a problem? I'm the "author" of hMailServer and this sounds like something I should know of..

hMailServer can install a fresh copy of MySQL server if you so choose, and that can cause problems cause of the LIBMYSQL.DLL file in C:/Windows or C:/Windows/System32

 

Thats why... its not a main problem... nothing much so you do not have to worry
