When I go to http://localhost/ is shows up "Index of /"

 

How I can I get it so other people can view it?

Just put the homepage files in W:/www/ and I think that you need to delete the .htaccess file in the www folder if you want to so other people can see your page.

But what would the URL be? ip address?

For the folder www is root so it's just http://localhost/

I mean for others to see.

They can see it over your ip or over a dynamic ip hehe...

When I go to my ip address it just shows some stuff about my modem.

Are you using a cable modem? or what kind of modem are u using... If their is an admin section to your modem, you may have to activate port 80 to direct to your pc...

I have a cable modem but im not sure about the admin section.

Our cable modem for our cable dsl does not have an admin section but the router does at our house so if u are using a router then you have to set it there...

You can always check your 'external' IP number by going to http://myip.dk - I use a DynDNS service to point users to my local webserver.

http://www.whatismyip.com also works, and it's in english
