Used Uniform for many years and have been really happy with it.

Since the project seems to have fallen asleep I looked around for alternatives.

 

I can strongly recommend laragon.org.

Okay i noticed it offers pretty urls which go live instantly.. that's got me curious enough to download and see what i can learn from it but i doubt i'll switch from uniformserver if i can hack that feature into it.
