Mini Server 8 - phpminiadmin Can't connect to MySQL server (10061)

I am trying out the mini server 8 in preparation for a project

It seems to start fine but when I go to http://localhost:8088/phpminiadmin.php

I get the following error

Cannot connect to the database because: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

what should I do?? I am on windows 7 64x thanks, Megan
