LiamWalker
Hey, guys, who's been to Italy recently? I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether it's possible to explore the country without renting a car or taking transfers. My wife and I are so excited to fly in June! We're planning a route that will take us from Rome to Naples to Sorrento, and we're thinking of stopping by Pompeii too. I know it's expensive to rent a car, and I'm not looking forward to dealing with parking and ZTL zones in the cities. Has anyone tried transfers or is it better to take a car? GraceNelson
We took a similar route last year, and I can tell you from experience that renting a car in Italy is a hassle. Parking lots are a nightmare, and we got fined when we got back. Especially in places like Sorrento, where parking is a nightmare. we used this service https://gettransfer.com/en/directions/italy to book an airport transfer in Italy. We used this transfer to travel around the cities. We booked the transfer ahead of time, and there were discounts. For example, the trip from Rome to Naples cost €90, and the trip from Naples to Sorrento cost €75. I think it's more profitable, and I don't worry about anything. No need to stress. In this situation, you're the one who knows what's best for you.
