May 11, 201213 yr comment_10455 Wow guys,I'm not even sure I'm in the right forum? I've created an Excel workbook in mydocuments that I'd like to link to tables in my D: drive UniServer database tables. The Excel documentation points out that you can add a 'Secure Location' to link to but only offers the typical Microsoft database types including 'Oracle' and I was wondering if my database is compatible with those? If not then the documentation points out that you can add a database type. So I need to find out what type of database phpadmin creates and am not sure 'myisam' etc. is applicable. Any advice or direction greatly appreciated. Report
May 11, 201213 yr comment_10458 If you're not sure which forum, that's OK, we'll figure it out, but DON'T do multiple posts, because that just bloats the Forum and makes more work. Excel can use ODBC connections. I've not done it for years, so I don't recall how. I also didn't do it with MySQL, but the do have the drivers for Windows.Google ODBC, read the Wikipedia article, download the drivers from MySQL. That should get you on the path at least.
