Php date time format

Hi is it possible to change date & time format in the PHP.ini file to reflect to this format : dd-mm-yyyy and time to 12 hrs instead of 24 hrs.

 

When i run a date time php script in the browser i get this format: mm-dd-yy and time 24 hrs. I would like to change the output as mentioned above.

 

The php script i used was :

print strftime ('%c');

?>

 

Any help would be much appreciated. Thx.
