Thanks I don’t think it’s indicative of Uniform Server just wondering if this is a Dell or Vista feature! All the bestRic Quote
nvictor Posted January 28, 2008 Author Report Posted January 28, 2008 I don’t think it’s indicative of Uniform Server just wondering if this is a Dell or Vista feature! All the bestRic Ric, you are right, I thought the pskill.exe program was the cause, so I downloaded another process killer, and it's still the same. Thanks anyway. Quote
nvictor Posted January 28, 2008 Author Report Posted January 28, 2008 Hahaha the f** bas** I got rid of it To turn off the Dell laptops' annoying LOUD BEEP, refer to these articles: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread...p+beep+wireless http://www.tweakxp.com/article36877.aspx Quote
Ric Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Confession time! I now believe the problem is indirectly due to pskill.exe while hacking some code could not kill the mysql server. Traced this to a file named Close.bat what was interesting I actually had the PC audio switched on and yep you guessed it. I received that annoying beep, an alternative solution can be found on this page: http://center.uniformserver.com/us_35_know..._close_bat.html Well I remembered your post seems my original advice was incorrect hope the above may be of use. Oops it not an alternative solution, consider implementing it because there is a small possibility of mysql data corruption, never seen it but its best to be on the safe side. All the bestRic Quote
Ric Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 This is now included in a combined bug fix see Wiki: http://wiki.uniformserver.com/index.php/Bu...ombined_bug_fix All the bestRic Quote
jacob lee Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 I've changed pskill.exe to pv.exe a long time ago and I can't remember hearing beep sound after that. http://www.faratasystems.com/pview/prcview.htm Quote
