kimberlybost Posted December 25, 2024 Report Posted December 25, 2024 Hello, Has anyone had issues when swapping PHP versions in UniformServer? I have PHP 5.4/5.5/5.6 installed, and the Unicontroller will allow me to swap between them. Apache restarts OK. I have two joomla sites - one doesn't work when I swap the PHP version to 5.5.30 or 5.6.15 (which is in the range Joomla has been stated to run OK on) Returning back to 5.4.30 brings the site back to working order. A second site is not affected by the change of PHP version and functions normally. All the typical PHP settings have been changed on all three PHP versions, and in three version of the php.ini file - "production", "testing", and "development" versions. This is otherwise, a default install of Uniform Server running off my hard drive Thanks Quote
Jamar Huel Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Sorry. Swapping PHP versions in my uniforms does not currently have the same Geometry Dash error as you. When I hear you talk about this error, I will check it again. Quote
routinedotted Posted April 21 Report Posted April 21 Upgrades really require the right version getting over it scratch to run the program effectively. PHP version to 5.6.15 really improves the experience for everyone to explore. Quote

No not really, later versions above 5.3 require some stupid runtime to be installed which can't be installed on every computer (eg my windows 7 machine won't install it). Further rotatelogs version 2.4.2 is the last version that you can use that doesn't require it too. Uniformserver is no longer truly portable. If you want a US that is, you need to go back to the v7 Orion range or the early v8 Coral range. Those don't require the stupid runtime dependencies. Quote
Archibald Posted June 5 Report Posted June 5 You might want to check the error logs for any specific messages that could indicate what’s going wrong with the site on PHP 5.5 or 5.6. Sometimes, certain extensions or configurations in Joomla can cause issues when upgrading PHP versions. papa's scooperia Quote
