Unfiform Server 3.5 has problems

Featured Replies

SQL 4 and 5, maybe a downgrade plugin...??

A downgrade to SQL 4 would be nice considering that most hosting companies are still using mysql verisons in the 4's.

Unifrom Verison 3.5 has problems

When installed on windows XP , changing all the passwords as requested, checking all the .htpsswds to make sure everything saved correctly and then trying to start PHPadmin generates this error.

Error

MySQL said:

#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

"phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in config.inc.php and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server."

Checking config.inc.php simply refers to the variables in the various .htpasswd files.

ANY IDEAS?

Uniform Server 3.5 has been thoroughly tested before release.. Whatever happened must have been caused by whatever it is that you did unless you wont be getting that error.

I need you to download a new copy of the server and start over one by one... so you can figure out where the problem came from.

It's also a good idea to close your browser (or open a new instance not a tab) that way the browser will clear its cookies. I have run into this problem.

An easy way to ensure this doesn't happen is to stop the server, close your browser, then start the server, click on MySQL Configuration and change the password. Stop the server using stop.bat, start it again then you can go to phpMyAdmin with full access.
