Hey. Was wondering, cause I use uniserver to deploy my software with friends and up wondered why they download at around 40kb/s .. my upload speed is 2mbps on cable..so i should be able to upload faster... really weird.. The guy getting the file has a better connection than 256k...

Ok, you mention upload and download, so which are you saying is slow..? If you saying that the download is slow, it deends on what connection the person is using and how far the person is, and if it's the upload, then it might be the same thing plus the script... You might also ned to chnage the max_upload set for php in the php.ini file.

As in, a friend downloaded an application from me which was 300mb in size. So my friend isnt uploading to me... He's downloading FROM me :D.. He has a pretty fast connection, 25mbps to be exact...So, he should actually be downloading from me around 100kb/s... wonder why it stayed at 40kb/s

Well, i dont think its the server. Could be anything from your ISP to your connection... Do you know that your upload rate and download rate also are not the same... from your ISP... Upload could be less or more than download..

 

Run those tests on the internet to determine your speed.

Ya, His speed is 25mbps down 15mbps up... mine is 4mbps down and 2mbps up...

Then location, how far are you guys from each other? and how far are you from your ISP.. all that matter... lol. :D You really never get to use the full thing you know.. all that is just ISP lying to you.. lol.

I suppose its the distance.... im from new zealand he's in japan. I am 18 miles away from ISP.. Still I reckon it should of been a LIL faster...lol.. around 80kb/s.

 

I did a test on speedtest.net, I did it on Japan server.. My upload to there was 1.1mbps and down was 3mbps.

Yup, I download at 450kb/s which is 4.3mbps I think..i've uploaded at around 200kb/s... Cable internet here in NZ is really good, and stable. We get full capacity...
