can't i do without installing a separate installation of Apache because it tired it and it clashes with uniform server. can someone please tell me where to place the files because the admin panel for the server works fine when i start the server or when i access it from UniTray. i really would like to get started on testing my php scripts on my pc before uploading them to the server.

i get "Apache.exe" under the program column

i get a "n/a" line in the services column. so am i supposed to write "net stop n/a" cos if i do type tht, i get an error.

i get a syntax error when i type in step 3. i wrote "net stop <service>"

i don think i have IIS installed cos i can access the admin panel from the untray plugin or when i start the server. but i can't access my site when i type 'http://localhost' or 'http://localhost/apanel'. how do knw if i have IIS installed?

i do have an index.php file in the 'www' folder. i tell u my setup. when i start the server service, i go the W: drive and then into the 'www' folder where i place all my website files. am i not doing it correctly?

still no luck. i typed the address in the address bar but IE says the webpage cannot be displayed.

i did start the server becaosue the admin panel shows up if the server is started correctly. but i tried typing 'http://localhost/www' in the browser address bar but a 404 error code is shown.

i installed uniserver 3.3 but i don't knw where to place my site files so tht i can test them. i tried placing them in W: -> www -> but it doesn't work. IE won't open the file. instead of opening it, it prompts to download the php file
