Downloaded Uniform Server and is working fine as such. (Have no Skype running on my computer)

Then wanted to upload an indexfile of my own in the directory w/... /www by copy and paste from my library of homepages i had programmed.

I get an errormessage that the path i am referring to is not available on this computer.

but be aware, i am seeing W drive in my explorer and just ant to paste the indexfile into it.

In the directory C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Uniform Server\udrive\www

i find the exact same files as ar in the w-drive.

And there i can paste my indexfile into witout problem and it also shows when i ask for "local" in the IE.

Could anyone help me what i have to do, so that my W-drive (virtual drive W) is recognized by my vista and i can manipulate it as a real existing drive?

Thank you!

Weird, works on my vista pc.

Try to move uniform to C drive.

Move the main server files, the entire Uniform Server folder to somewhere like the C:/ drive. I think its doing that cause of a permission problem and since where you kept it is a sensitive part of Windows, that might be the problem.

Let me know what happens...

Hey Ota :)

Hi all,

I also have similar problems on two XP and one Vista.

Starting the services give me a disk Icon in the explorer but with a white question mark on a red background (and the error associated message: W:\ refers to a location that is unavailable).

I've used it the whole week-end on one system and last thursday and friday on the second one.

Today they have the same behaviour: starting it, opening the page with the redirect (that ends-up with a page not found).

I've moved the "Uniform Server" dir to almost everywhere but same result.

I've turned off the antiviruses (McAfee on one and Kaspersky on the two other) and still the same problem .....

TIA,

Al

Found the problem: Bluetooth ...... now do not ask me why the bluetooth is using port 80 .......

So stop the Bluetooth service, start US, then start bluetooth service ... if needed ......

Cheers,

Al
