Hi, ok i was wondering if someone could tell me why I am running fine at localhost but not at my IP or site addy.

Yes, port 80 is opened and unused by anything else.

This is a fresh fileset and I have not changed anything in any of the configuration files. Do i need to change any values and if so which ones/where?

You have to open the server up. Edit the .htaccess file and remove or comment out where it says DENY, the 3 lines.

It should work now if you have the right ip address :( not the network address but the real one. Get it from www.whatismyip.com

If you edit the .htaccess, then everything should work perfect unless you have another server running on your PC or something. Make sure you forward the port to that PC if you are using a router.

I do not have another server on my computer. Sorry for dialup people with my image. This just shows that I have this set up correctly as far as I know.

NetSetup.png

My router is a Linksys WRT54G and my wireless adapter is a Linksys WMP54G. I do not know what else to do. Uniserver worked before, however, none of the versions of uniserver work now for me.

I have almost the same thing you have.. or should i say had at my cousin's house.

You may have a firewall or something blocking it on your PC. You will also need to open the port on your PC in the Windows Firewall Exception program.

My ISP Blocks port 80, try running the server on a different port and trying to see if you can connect to that. You can do this by searching httpd.conf for the line containing the number 80, there is normally only one or two lines, and it should be obvious what line you need to change, if not let me know and I will get the line number for you.

If it works on a different port, they its your ISP.

I've had a uniform server setup on my laptop over wireless on port 81 for about a month and its worked great! The best part about having the knowledge to change ports .... I run another server on my main PC on a different port and link them together! I have a backup of all my sql stuff, that I can access live anywhere!

Well my isp found me running a webserver on port 80 and made block port 80.

Id like to change it to another port but I can't get to work on any port but 80. Ive made both changes in my http.conf for apache. My router is also configured properly.

Is there something else I should be doing.

If your ISP blocked port 80, then there is nothing you can do but change the port to something else. Change it in the httpd.conf file.

Change Listen 80 to Listen 85 or soemthing....

Then on your router you can do a port forward.. and your new address will be http://yourip:85

Good Luck.
