If you want people to donate with security concerns, then SSL cert becomes a must ...

Besides those commercial SSL certs, there stands CACert.org and StartCom.org with free SSL cert either, so does GoDaddy.com gives free SSL to promote Open-source sites ...

Once upon a time a couple of comparisons of all the famous SSL certs float on the web, pros and cons in English, just go google ...

t is technically a foundation, a non profit organization website, which will allow people to make donations for the cause. Is purchasing an SSL certificate for this site a good idea?

If i have to purchase then which one is better for such a site?

Yes, you will need an ssl certificate for such a site. Online donations will require the customers to give their card details and for that you require a ssl cert. Most of the hosts offer ssl for free. But its better to go for dedicated ssl certificate. If you need a cheap, relaible web ssl, take a look at rapidsslonline.com.

Yes, You have to have SSL Certificate for, Register Page, Login Page, Forgot Password Page and if you have any specific pages where users used to fill confidential details.

I feel that having SSL certs for your site will be beneficial, as users will donate online and online transaction will happen, and credit card information and all such sensitive information will require for the same purpose.

The more customers trust you, the more they donate. An SSL certificate encrypts the connection between the browser and Web server. And protect all sensitive data from hackers and fraud.

Yes..it's really safe when you have a SSL Certificate..Because , here confidential informations like credit card number, address are used..When you get an SSL certificate, the information becomes unreadable to everyone except for the server you are sending the information to. This protects it from hackers. So i recommended to get a SSL Certificate from http://www.xnynz.com/ .Here i found the two plans which has more features..You can choose any of them..
