  1. Thanks for the post! I'm just now setting up an Eee Top with the Uniform Server. I'll let everyone know how it goes. (I'm having to de-crapify the Eee Top now!) I do my development on a Mac with Eclipse PDT and XDEBUG. I would like to deploy on the Eee Top. I'll keep you posted.
  2. Thanks for the response. I suppose it should work, but the Atom N270 has a single core (2-threads) and the cheapo machine has XP. I guess since no one else has tired it, I'll give it a shot and let you all know. Thanks again.
  3. Does your Wyse Winterm use a VIA processor? I see that they have many flavors with different processor speeds and memory sizes. Do you know the specs of your box? or the model number and we can look it up? Thanks for the info about dev/null! 7 registry entries to support a NUL device. Don't you just love windows? (Yes, Win2K is my main OS!)
  4. If you right-click on the task-bar and choose "Install and Run All Services" it will make Apache etc. start as a service. The service will restart every time you re-boot so you don't need to run "start.exe", just go to http://localhost for the home page. You will find links to the menu options there as well.
  5. I'd like to run The Uniform Server on a 1.6Ghz Intel Atom N270 based system. I'm considering an ASUS EeeTop ETP1602C touch screen to run a web app. The system runs XP Home so I feel comfortable from an OS point of view, but I didn't know if there was anything about the N270 that would make Apache, PHP and MySQL not work or perform so poorly as to be unusable with Firefox in kiosk mode with light use of Javascript. The application is not particularly resource hungry, but I do change the PIP.ini to support more memory (128 Mb) and use MySQL PDO support. Anyone had any experience using The Uniform Server on an Intel Atom based machine? Thanks, ctopher
